Airtel Special plan 4mbps ultd @ 1799

Guys,

I am currently on the day 512kbps and night 1MBps plan from Airtel and pay 1099 pm, just got a call from them and they are offering me 4mbps ultd for 1799, the catch is that the FUP limit is 50GB compared to 100GB on all ultd plans, once I cross the 50GB its will be set to 256kbps!

What do you think, is this plan worth it? I dload a bit, but with speed like that I am sure 50GB will go in a jiffy, all my shows and movies!....weigh in ur pro's and cons..

I'm on the same plan as you are right now. 4 megs is a tempting speed, but the FUP is not justifiable at all. 50 gigs would be over before you even know it and the speed it drops to, post that, is 256kbps. That is simply unacceptable. You current plan would yield more download in a month as opposed to the above plan. :p
 
Well no point going for that plan as with 4mbps 50 gb is nothing so once you will get 4mbps plan you will download a lot to and once your 50gb will be over you will regret it with 256kbps. so better stay away and dont stuck with this airtel loot plan. You end up playing aprox 800 rs extra and getting nothing worth. Another thing i just found out abt new changed plans there is a option of continue on same speed with 10 paisa per mb. still no good
 
If speed would have been 2mbps after consuming 50gb, then it must have been the best deal :D but this one really sucks, going from 4 to 0.25mbps. Better stick to the current one.
 
Even i was thinking whether to change my tariff to 4mbps or not..

But 50GB is VERY VERY low for 4mbps.

It should have been 100GB and after that speed should drop to 1mbps instead of 256kbps..and they could've priced it at Rs.1999. This way its good for them as well as us.
 
Where its nice to see 4Mbps being offered.. i d suggest flatly refuse.

And give them an earful.. mentioning the words like Think of Consumers as fools..??

their calls are recorded for future monitoring.. they shd hear those words again and again if i dare to imagine.

Say no and give them a good rundown. They shd offer stuff at something remotely mentionable. 4Mbps downgraded to 256kbps.. how abt reducing Sunil Mittal's luxury car to a Circus monocycle..?
 
Well you guys have echoed my sentiments, it would have been a win, had the speed gone back to 2mbps once its reached the FUP limit of 50GB, but 256kbps is unacceptable and purely lame, the sad part is that the 2MBPS ultd plan costs 2099pm!!

But at least we can see this kind of bandwidth being advertised in India, lets hope it gets better soon!
 
Another disadvantage of new plan is that..

Right now you get free calls of rs. 100/- per month.. but new plan will have zero free calls.

So, better stay with your current plan...

Where did you see 2MBPS UL plan for 2099?
 
Next Airtel may come up with 1 Gigabit Plan and 2GB FUP...hehehehe

In Delhi, I had taken an Airtel connection...Returned it in 2 months. Thank god, MTNL is around.
 
i am on swift 1299 plan... as per the ad. my day time speed will increase to 1 Mbps .. from 512 kbps.... but what abt the night speeds?? i get 1mbps in night.. so will it be upgraded to 2mbps?? plz reply,,

I am not sure but speed upgrade is only in standard plan like 512kbps 1mpbs and 2bps mb its not for 512 kbps in day and 1 mb in night and 1 mbps day 2mbps night.
