I don't think so. Those 500 Rupee plans frm BSNl are atractive to moderate users of the net, and the 250 Rs is perfect for surferes only.. there are lots of them. I used to be one b4 I shifted from dialup, and if I had to shift to a restrictive one like BSNL Dataone 250 Rs pack, I wud think it quite nrmal to surf and not dld (in india that is)

yea, but whats wrong with hyderabad? hell not a single isp who provides 256k uncapped speeds 24x7...

i just dont get it man, and how did u come to know that Airtel comig to pune? btw ive been hearing rumours that Airtel has started laying lines here in hyderabad, anyone knows anything about this?
 
i dont know much abt airtel but for any news regarding net i check this site and according to it..airtel has quitely started its market in mumbai...check here and on that forum

Bharti teleservices, one of India’s largest telecom operators, is planning to provide fixed and broadband connections to its one million subscribers in Mumbai. The telecom operator is trying to provide Mumbai subscribers with a total enterprise-level solution, that is mobile, landline and broadband connections. Through this, Bharti will directly target the state-owned Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), which is the only other service provider to introduce all the three services in the city.

I will be calling airtel first thing tomorrw. I am preety sure they havent made their way to dahisar area in mumbai yet but i will make all my friends ring em up so they will atleast move fast :P And my friend circle is huge here(old biker buddies :P ). hehe.
 
@Rave: Airtel is avaialble in hyderabad, the problem is that they still do not cover all the areas. Even i am waiting for Airtel to make an appearance in my area. That would be total heaven. :)
 
55 kBps + constant since since 6 am today on Firefox's default download manager now :ohyeah: :ohyeah:

But Bittorrent is still stuck on 27 kBps with 15 kBps upload :@ :@

How do I know they are coming to Pune? The fact that they have wired up my enitre building society sort of gives me an inkling...:ohyeah: :ohyeah: :ohyeah:
They have yet to lay the line to the society, but the houses all have lines running up to them.. they said they will be starting in two-three months. Fine by me, I have exams till Dec 15th.
 
Lucky... for so long I was in such a bad position.. my BSNL line ws so bad for over 2 years, I cud not even talk on it (I heard cross connections louder than the person who I actually was talking with), and therefore I used to get 2-3 KBps max. My father was once online for 5 hours (2 on VSNL, 3 on BSNL ISPs) without being able to open hotmail home page or any ther page for that matter.

Went for reliance and finally after a long wait got Sify... which then proceeded to conk out every 20 days for a week.... only recently fixed when they went all fiber optic.
