re: Alan Wake: American Nightmare - Discussion Thread

New Alan Wake is an XBLA game

The new Alan Wake game to be revealed at the Spike VGAs will be for Xbox Live Arcade. This was first noted as a correction in a tweet by Game Informer news editor Jim Reilly, who clarified that it's a downloadable game, and "not Alan Wake 2." The announcement was confirmed on the Alan Wake Facebook page, which also asks "Are you ready to become the Champion of Light?" We'll see the first screenshot on GI's website on Monday.

These details are in keeping with reports we've received in the past. In May, Remedy head of development Oskari Häkkinen told Joystiq that a new Alan Wake project was in progress, but was not Alan Wake 2, and "neither will it be DLC." That report also offered a fall release window, which is seeming unlikely at this point. Later that same month, a rumor popped up outing the next game as "Alan Wake's Night Springs" for XBLA.

re: Alan Wake: American Nightmare - Discussion Thread

Wow .... That one was a big fail. When is Remedy going to understand that Alan wake is not Max Payne? I would rather have them working on Max Payne 4 then Alan Wake 2.

re: Alan Wake: American Nightmare - Discussion Thread

Alan Wake may not be Max Payne, but it's a bloody good game. I, for one, would definitely want a sequel. Besides, aren't Rockstar handling Max Payne now?

i definitely want alan wake sequel.it was a fantastic game with a intriguing story and ofcourse massive cliff hangers!

i hope they improve on the gfx front and deliver a similarly punching story.

Remedy don't own the Max Payne IP. They will only develop a Max Payne game if Rockstar Games (technically Take Two Interactive) decides to hire them. I think Remedy or at least Sam Lake is being consulted for Max Payne 3.

re: Alan Wake: American Nightmare - Discussion Thread

I know that and that is exactly why I was saying that Remedy should work on Max Payne instead. Max Payne is Remedy's child and I don't think any other developer can do justice to it. And FYI, Remedy was supposed to work on Max Payne 3 but they were unable to do so because they were already working on Alan Wake which in its own right is a great game but cannot come close to the greatness of Max Payne. Anyways, I guess we are deviating from the topic.

How in the world is that an XBLA title? :S

The search feature is beginning to piss me off. I can't seem to find appropriate search results on Google for the threads and the forum's search won't accept anything with 4 words or less.

It's coming out next month. WOOHOOO!

Yes wonder can something happen to this as it was with GEOW 3 Single Player DLC where it popped up suddenly a week before

Very slim chance of that happening. At the most we can receive a PNET leak, which I doubt will happen now.

Remedy teases Alan Wake's American Nightmare for PC

Will Alan Wake's American Nightmare follow Alan Wake's lead and launch on PC after releasing on Xbox 360?

Developer Remedy has delivered a strong hint that it will.

"PC gaming is part of our heritage," Remedy head of franchise development Oskari Hakkinen told Eurogamer when we asked him that very question. "PC gaming is close to our hearts. We'll make it happen if we can."

Alan Wake's American Nightmare, which launches on XBLA tomorrow, is a standalone, more action-oriented experience than Alan Wake.

It's set in a fictional episode of Night Springs, the Twilight Zone-style TV show that appeared in Alan Wake, and sees the grumpy writer face off against waves of enemies with an arsenal of weapons.

While a PC release sounds like a sure thing, one platform American Nightmare will never release on is the PlayStation 3.

Watching some movies now i.e Asura Wrath

Not sure why they took dream logic in a loop concept here , the game was easy
