Re: Alice: Madness Returns [Multi-Platform]

Started the horror filled wonderland.:D

Alright the initial impressions are quite good!
Cant comment on the story much as i have only proceeded few levels only. But it started quite beautifully and interestingly.
The most admirable in this is alice's hair. The hair animation is just brilliant! i dont remember seeing it in any other games.

The game is locked at 30fps but dont worry it can be unlocked to your desired level.
But sometimes the fps takes few hiccups.Maybe due to texture loading or level loading.which can be a bit annoying.

The combat is also worth mentioning.Well i think devil may cry fans may like the combat system.:D the slow mo effects in between are done quite well too, though there is nothing new here.

But it seems the game has not been made to be played with key board and mouse.

Re: Alice: Madness Returns [Multi-Platform]

Get the DLC costumes. I'll be starting this once I'm done with RnC: Quest for Booty, which won't be too long now. :D

OT: Ankur, you up for L4D2 session tonight?

Re: Alice: Madness Returns [Multi-Platform]

How does the game compare to the previous one in terms of the soundtracks and level designs?

IINM the game is meant to be played with a controller.

Yep agree with the controller part.selection of weapons is a bit pain.eg:-you have to select and fire that peeper gun using right mouse button only!!

Oh sorry! missed the soundtrack part.Soundtrack blends quite well with the game and is good!
enough to create mood for a wonderland adventure!:D

as far as the first game is concerned i have not yet completed it..you can say its also a bit easy.here i think you dont die.just spawn at the place where you had failed earlier.
I am playing it at hard difficulty.

Wont comment on the level design as i have proceeded till 3-4 levels only.will update after i complete some more.:D

OH wait wait.....I forgot the dodging part too.For dmc fans dodging is like female version of vergil !:D

@ethan ok.

Re: Alice: Madness Returns [Multi-Platform]

^Thanks! Looks nice indeed. Will give this a shot after I am done with a couple of co-op titles.

It has been a LONG time since I played the last title. Don't even remember the storyline much. Need to read up!

Re: Alice: Madness Returns [Multi-Platform]

Alright guys those who have xbox 360 controllers for them combat will be a bliss.its a bit frustrating for the keyboard and mouse users.the keys are poorly mapped.though the combat is fluid.
keeping physx on dosent makes any significant changes to the environment only the fps gets slaughtered.
The game relies too much on platforming there are too many of them. There is no arrow or any kind of mark to guide you.for any hints you have to shrink alice that too works on some places only.

Re: Alice: Madness Returns [Multi-Platform]

Anyways you have another thing to rejoice for. it is also made for 16:9.4:3 is as usual not supported here too.:(

It is good for people with 16:9.:D

Btw here crazy gameplay like tst can be practiced.you can kill easily without getting a single hit if you are well versed with the controls.

Re: Alice: Madness Returns [Multi-Platform]

Check this out:

For anyone who doubts that video games can be art, look no further than American McGee. (...)

To celebrate his creation and it’s sequel Alice: Madness Returns, McGee worked with Los Angeles venue Gallery 1988 to commission several artists, including Chet Zar, Dr. Romanelli, Luke Chueh, Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda, Kevin Tong, Angryblue, and Phantom City Creative, to reinterpret his titular character for a showing during video game expo E3. “The art show really drove home my sense that this interpretation of Alice is a very natural and appropriate one. In creating the franchise, my goal was to create a branch in the Alice universe that would always feel like a natural, logical extension to the original stories everyone knows and loves. To see how that new telling is then re-interpreted, while still capturing the essence of a darker, more mature Alice has been like witnessing a shared dream.”

I love the first and the last. The last one's face actually has a striking resemblance to Angelina Jolie. :P
