d90 would be a great option. its a segment higher than 550d though! the secondary display is a huge plus, the grip and ergonomics are amazing!

Looking for a telephoto zoom lens. Is the Nikkor 70-300 VR worth it ? Or are there better options in that price range ?

^^ Nope !

The 70-300mm VR is every bit as sharp as the Canon variant but comes with a faster ultrasonic motor with full time manual focus while the Canon version has a slower/noiser micro motor while costing the same as the Nikon.

Guys, could you bring out the difference among 50mm primes from canon & nikon. I understand for similar price, canon can AF while nikon cannot. How much difficult is it to focus manually in terms of speed and accuracy?

can any one do me a favour and find out price of Nikon D90 in grey and with bill market, specially mumbaikars.

Thanks in advance.

I have found a deal for 929 US$ which comes to 42k at conversion rate or 45 INR = 1 US$. If its lucrative enough to purchase from there, I can jump in.

I'm looking for this light tent. Unfortunately, its available on ebay India but its super overpriced. Is there any good online site where I can place an order? This is what I'm looking for

Both are pretty sharp. Nikon has better build quality. Both cost around the same.

Both have good bokeh but the Nikon has better bokeh.

The Nikon will NOT AF with D40, D40x, D3000, D5000 and D3100 cameras. Will AF with all other Nikon DSLRs.

The Canon will AF with all Canon DSLRs.

^^that price is not right. digitalelect is a very well known bait-n-switch operator. d90 + 18-105 is ~ $950-1000
they have the 5d mII and the 7d for ridiculously cheap too! :p

@aces170, thanks I had faint idea about sub 50k price in mumbai so was hoping grey would be nearly same as US prices.

Infact in US too its not going below 1000$ for quite a long time, has moved tad higher to average around 1100US$ right now :(

keeping a watch, will be hope for better thanksgiving and black friday deals :p

Hmm, seems like reseller ratings have also not so good reviews on the site...
