News Amazon Basics now makes motherboards in India

Galvanizer

I just came across this listing on Amazon.
Product information also mentions manufactured by Sahasra Electronics Private Limited in Noida, UP, and not imported by XYZ.
The reviews also mention made in India.
The sticker label makes me think it's 100% rebranded stuff.

Not sure how to feel about this. On the one hand, it's Amazon Basics, not known for their track record or QC.
On the other hand, India should manufacture more of high level electronics rather than import everything.

I doubt it's made in India, it's more like assembled in India. That PCB alone will be cheaper if imported from china, than manufactured in India.
That is my reading too. It's disingenuous what these companies do, and the govt should be acting like a watchdog to stop this kinda behaviour. Instead, they are the ones promoting and encouraging it.

The company filed for IPO last year. Some nuggets from its Red Herring Prospectus:

To its credit, most of the company's sales are also exports.
