IF you are going to buy new top tier for just gaming AMD is a safe bet thats it 16gb vram and low power just does the job

I got the information that the RX 6800XT price will be reveal till next week so ab 25th Nov, 2020 ko hi show down. Indian Stock will only arrive from 29th Nov, 2020 so here we are ! DAM !!!!!!

Low power draw + less noise + 50$ cheaper and if pairing with AMD CPU (probably better driver in future for SAM ?) , then 6800XT

5-6 % Higher Performance + Little extra power draw + Little extra noise + DLSS/Ray Tracing + Extra features for Streaming + 50$ = Nvidia 3080

Numbers are a let down tbh. Even with 7nm node they trail behind. Couldn't they increase power similar t9 nvidia and get better numbers? Also is their any review of SAM advantage with 5xxx cpus?
 
The reviews have not been showing AMD on better side except for review from

With 16GB ram , plus 50$ less , Lower power consumption on looong run might be some saving grace for AMD , but if you take ray tracing , better higher performance on higher resolution and better support for most games from nvidia , 3080 RTX might edge a bit imo. Also DLSS if anyone cares.. LTT video is spot on imo. Nvidia brings a lot more to the table than AMD at this point. POssibly next gen AMD cards might come bit closer to overall package..

I was planning to get 6800XT based on AMD launch .. but reviews are telling a different story.. I might go back to getting a 3080 or other brands 3080 .. Is there a comparison video on different brand 3080 ?

Just finished seeing JayTwoCentz video on 6800 series. Even though the results were same , he had a peculiar driving point towards AMD. Since both consoles now have AMD architecture for both CPU and GPU, he says games which are multi platform will be fine tuned towards AMD and we might see games getting better on AMD than on nvidia.. It might possibly become true .. particularly when drivers are optimized for xbox , we can see copying of those to PC as well.. All guesses at this time.

Even last gen consoles were all AMD. Did not prevent shit ports like Horizon. Do not believe blind marketing. Consoles being all AMD will not make AMD card + gpu and better than Intel + Nvidia just because of being used in consoles.

May be not the last gen , but this right around they seem to have jumped a lot on ray tracing aspect which nvidia is way ahead.
With my 970m i can hardly play any games.. so dont know , nor follow top tier games till now.
But given the results , Nvidia is still the way to go.. imo.

Has no reviewer done any review and assessment of SAM or what? If the 6x is still lagging behind then that SAM might be the only saving grace for people with AMD processor. Obviously useless for Intel guys. It might also give people some interest to get the new Zen 3 chips.
Also price wise what sounds better: the RX 6800 or the RTX 3070? Not going to buy. Just curious.

I would say in both RX6800 is what I will go for. But looking at the price difference between RX6800 and RX6800XT, later is better.

may be he is one of those, 16gb ram of this card is more powerfull then that of 10gb that ram.

They have done the testing and SAM is a hit or miss tech for now. Also NVIDIA is also planning to bring something similar to SAM soon and AMD boards will have to do a similar for Nvidia cards also in the near future. So SAM doesnt seems to a exclusive tech for AMD. Also SAM doesnt bring that much performance boost. as i said earlier only hardware unboxed video showed a great performance difference. In all other reviews 6800XT was trailing 3080 in huge margin or beating 3080 by small percentage.

compared to 3070 , 6800 seems a better offering . But if you are not planning to buy now , wait for "Super" cards from Nvidia which will fill the void between 6800 and 6800XT
