yes, thats called bragging..........

I did'nt say that they make processors out of wood or plastic.

They use the same material that intel uses but of lower quality.

It helps them to reduce the prices drastically and hence people think that their processors are good value for money.

bs0409, the reason AMD generally prices their processors lower is to compete against the brand image of Intel and recently, it's also due to the fact that they currently are behind by a generation in terms of processor architecture. Also, I believe Intel has developed a fabrication process (that they purposefully have not patented as they would have to reveal the tech to the competition after 5 yrs and are confident that AMD won't catch up even then) that allows them to develop better CPUs. I believe the folks on this forum who keenly follow CPU fabrication might be able to comment better on this.

ohhhhhhhhhhhh........
So you want to say that they compromise profits to serve customers. If processor speeds are same, materials are same, everything else same then the only way to lower prices is to compromise on profits. I don't think they do that. After all, they are here to make business and not just drag customers from the intel territory into theirs.

You better provide a more logical reason for their lower prices or else nobody is going to believe you.

haha...............

Techie entries are those which keep a forum alive.......

U can never disregard them...........

You have no idea to what kind to what kind of people the regulars give the title "techboi". The guy seem to be comparing dress material over here :P. Out of curiosity, which forum were you on before this?

*sigh* The regular guys like bikey and all are not much around. Although it would be great if he can make some comments.

You SIR is saying nothing but complete bullshit. All I see blah blah and no FACT. I have used AMD and I have Intel. This isnt vegetable or dress material you are buying over here. For once, wake up and smell the coffee.

There have been assemblers and people with any knowledge and tell that amd is crap- afterall they dont know anything. Amd and intel exchange blows all the time. Sometime AMD wins it and sometimes intel. AMD back in the ancient days their processor used to heat up- only because they never had heatspreaders. Socket 939 completly pwn3d intel- something everyone who really knows logic knows that fact. Intel c2d ruled and now phenom 2 is doing some damage to intel. Its simple fact- amd is a well known company. People mix hype with reputation. End of the day what is important- you get the best hardware for your money. Its an everything for some to bump into people like you. Sadly people like you dont get it.

-OT- since this has already gone way OT

I was wondering how long we have to wait for such a thread full of knowledge/entertainment after the recent upgrade.

popcorn time.

What does the "bs" in his name stand for?? Anything related to his comments, I wonder :P?

@bs0409, the famous line/s used to go "Intel Inside, Idiot Outside" and other similar quotes. Those were the times AMD was whupping Intel's PresHOT a**. I'll bet u were still a Intel fanboi then.

Edit: Mind sharing which hardware books told u that AMD used inferior materials so I know which books not to recommend :ohyeah:? Also, mind sharing which grade of silicon they use as compared to Intel ?
