How does this overclock look to you Gurus?

Anything I should do to make it better/stable? I have been running on these settings for the last 1 day though not 24x7. The pc did hang once or twice. But overall its been good.

I increased the CPU multiplier to 15 (default 14) and the FSB to 220 (default 200). Increasing the FSB has resulted in overclocking the memory too.

BTW I am using the stock cooler.

@ param it looks good, I would look at upping the v on core to around 1.425 and see where it goes. If I am not wrong 1.45 is considered ok with AMD themselves, though I have gone upto 1.55 without any issues. The hanging could be cause by the low voltages on the CPU.

@DS - how would you like to go about the overclock list. Let me know in detail. Cheers.

^ I think you RAM is CL4 , If yes then set timings to 4-4-4-12

RAM is CL5. Timings are 5-5-5-18!

Will try increasing the vcore to 1.4.

^^Do no increase the Vcore on stock.. Get OCZ Vendatta 2 then push it beyon 4ghz :)

@ Mav : Its like Mhz bump over stock .. rank people on the basis of how much OC they did not by the speed they have...

Example : AMD Phenom II 2.8 - 3.9 [1.1 Ghz]

AMD Phenom I X3 8650 2.3 - 3.01 [700 Mhz]

AMD Phenom II X3 2.8 - 3.3 [500 Mhz]

AMD Phenom X4 2.6 - 3.0 [400 Mhz]

and so on , :P

@ DS I dont know if thats what we should be looking for, wht do the other guys think though. Its a small enuf clubhouse to get a consensus.

Also i get vdrops on my mobo. Like if I put the vcore to 1.375, then it can move between 1.35-1.375. Is this normal? Or do I need to check the mobo??

@ DS

Not going to spend money on buying a special cooler. I am satisfied with what I am currently getting.

@ knoughtyd

How have you managed to lower the vcore and overclock? I was under the impression that one has to increase the vcore for the oc to be stable.

Ok on this topic, lets start something new....how low can you go...and by that I dont mean what should be the lowest speed that you can get but whats the lowest vcore at which you can run a stress test, like say prime 95 for an hour. I am currently at 1.17 at stock speeds. Lets c what you can do. Cheers and happy undervolting.

Just for you guys...955BE in action.:hap2:

Hey welcome dude....
@DS... this was just to prove that 4 sticks of ram can be used or something, but basically I have seen this same proccy at tech powerup, with a 5Ghz run. And it does it on AIR (I think) Check it out if you have the time.

Thanks Abhi, interesting reading, though I didnt really change to all cores and scale down any one core. BTW, hope to see you here soon.

Anyone taken up the undervolting challenge?

Glad dat u liked it...:)

Somehow i am controlling my urge to go for this damn proc...

Though I dnt know how long i can do that...:P

I am betting abt 2 weeks more.....lol...cheers and see u here soon...btw ure fans are still at my place...r u planning to pick it up or should I just give it away??

I would probably understand that and agree with it, if this was to be a really big club. then we could look at ways to add criteria for OC etc. But as of now with 9 members, dont really make too much sense. Thanks for looking in though.
