Yeah. That's one of the major disadvantages of msi.

@w1nD: which socket does your board use?

Is MSI really that bad in india...I have already purchased MSI-GD 80 from US after seeing it's reviews. Even in Newegg it had 5 stars:help:. I had options of EVga, Gigabyte p55a-ud4p, asus p55 evo for a much lower price than that MSI board.

Just noticed this in MSI india website for service and support. http://in.msi.com/ContactUs.htm

"Operation Hours

Monday-Friday 11:00Am-4 :00 PM"

These people work only for 5 hours a day. Wish I had joined in such a company.

One thing is certain now MSI P55 GD65 is out of question now.

A big no no to MSI

Obviously i am left with 2 choices Gigabyte and Asus.

No to Intel

Asus P7P55-D @ 10.2k
Asus P7P55D-PRO @ 12.2k

So now have to choose between these 2 mobos

Go for pro.

Well now budget is going haywires due to unavailability of Gigabyte GA P55M-UD2

I also want to take the pro but 12k premium for it is hard to swallow.

I never imagined in my life i would spend 10k or 12k for a mobo.

Cpu - Intel core i5-750 (2.66Ghz) - 9.5k
Mobo - Asus P7P55D or Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R - 10-11k
Ram - Transcend 2x2gb 1333mhz ddr3 - 4.8k
HDD - Seagate 500gb - 2.3k
Optical drive - Samsung/LG DVD writer - 1.1k
Graphics card - ATI HD 5770 1gb GDDR5 - 10.5k (more future ready)
Cabinet - Cooler Master CM 590 - 4k
SMPS - Corsair HX 750 - 8-9k
Monitor - BenQ 24" G2420HD - 12k

If you plan on overclocking your P55 past current 4.3GHz limits on air or water, you need to be aware of potential problems with current socket designs.
So far, EVGA is the only company we know that uses sockets exclusively from LOTES on their top-tier P55 boards - for example, the EVGA P55 Classified 200, model E659.

AnandTech: P55 Extreme Overclockers: Check your sockets!

I don't think you'll go 4GHz+

Can't have sleepless nights with crappy MSI warranty. A few changes made to rig
Cpu - Intel core i5-750 (2.66Ghz) - 9.5k
Mobo - Asus P7P55D-PRO - 12k
Ram - Transcend 2x2gb 1333mhz ddr3 - 4.8k
HDD - Seagate 1TB 7200.12 series - 4k
Optical drive - Samsung/LG DVD writer - 1.1k
Graphics card - ATI HD 4890 1gb GDDR5 - 11.5k
Cabinet - Cooler Master CM 590 - 4k
SMPS - Corsair TX 750 - 8k
Monitor - Samsung 23" P2350 - 11k

Total - 68.4k

Guys anymore changes required ?

I am still considering Monitor to Dell G2420HD

Your suggestions are extremely valuable guys

id rather suggest an ASUS MOBO ..*** plss stay away frm seagate hardisks :| id even recommend samsung ahead of seagate :\ .. t best is WD *** .. buy g skill 1600 !! ;)

Reconsider ram :) as i have said before you wont repent

I am reconsidering Rams already.

But unfortunatel G.Skill isn't available in Kolkata.

My dad is not very optimistic about buying online.Tried convincing many times.

Unfortunately i'll have to buy from Kolkata or not buy a pc

I do not see any reason, why you should go for ASUSP7P55 PRO over the D variant and spend more, while you are already out of budget.

Plus use a PSU calculator and see if you really need a 750 W power supply even after crossfiring.

eXtreme Outer Vision - eXtreme tools for computer enthusiasts

I calculated your power requirements myself with 2xHD 5870, capacitor aging set as 20 %, CPU TDP set as 100 %, Load 100%, the peak power requirements came out to be 569 W. Check it out yourself. No way you should go for a TX 750 and spend all that much more.

Rest is good.

I want ASUS P7P55 PRO coz it want CFX - SLI either ATI 2x5850, 2x5870, 2xGT3xx @x8 mode

Asus P7P55-D has 2 PCIe but other PCIe has CFX @ x4 mode

1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (@x4 mode, 2.5GT/s)

2 x PCI Express 2.0 x1 (2.5GT/s)

3 x PCI

ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (single at x16 or dual at x8/x8 mode)

1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (at x4 mode, 2.5GT/s)

No its fine bro

Is asus' after sales support good?
Everything in your config looks good.
But, you can try for 1600 Mhz ram from corsair if gskill isn't available.

why not add a cpu cooler instead of purchasing 1tb and 4 gigs of ram (u can update thos later) .. take 500 gb wd n 2 gb gskill .. ocz vendetta 2 may easily fit ur budget :)

Will consider.

Wat do you feel ab8 the Asus P7P55D-PRO - 12k ?

I changed MSI P55 GD65 as u advised MSI warranty has crappy ASS

I prefer Gigabyte only as Accell (Seagate guys) handles it's warranty & I suggest you buy UD3R for 12.5k

if you prefer Asus then buy Asus P7P55D-PRO
