I have a seagate 80 GB 7200.7 SATA drive which failed a few days back.
I had got this drive in 2004 but the seagate site shows the warranty till Dec 2010.
Is it possible to get it replaced under warranty as I do not have the bill.
Also, what would the procedure be for replacement, can it be done by courier/speedpost or do I have to go to Nehru place( I am from Gurgaon)?
And if I do get it replaced what is the probability of getting a 160GB or more HDD as a replacement as the courier charges/cost of travel to Nehru place is not worth 80GB and also considering that 80GB HDD's are not available in market, they would not have in stock.

Accel Frontline takes care of the replacement. IINM you have to register a complaint at their website and they'd ask you to approach their service centre with the drive packed. No you need not have the bill since the serial number of the drive takes care of that. 7200.7 is extinct - you may end up getting a 7200.10 or a newer drive with a 160GB capacity.

Btw are you sure the drive is still under warranty? Do a check here - Warranty Validation

Great! Now pack the drive and see if you can find an anti-static cover around since some of the Accel offices do not accept the drive without the bag. Pretty weird but better be safe than sorry.

As I will need to take it to Nehru Place(The nearest service center) I will postpone it for a while, most prob will go once the Gurgaon metro connects to Delhi
