Security Software Antivirus suggestions

+1 for Microsoft Security Essentials, been using it for the past few months and never had a problem. It's got very good rating too in most of the comparative tests that have been carried out.

Thank you friends for your information.I am using windows xp sp3 and I came to know that Microsoft's security suite doesn't include any firewall we should use the firewall that come with widows os.Is it safe to use default firewall instead of the firewall come with internet security suites like norton,kaspersky,nod32 ...

What makes u ppl think that there can't be any virus/spyware/torjan in cracks n keygen?

Avast is grt. I m using it. It can scan archive provided u have properly configured. Some ppl don't like its user interface! Why don't use skins? Lots of skin r available online. Whick other av provides skinable feature. Lastly avast updates r grt. Updated very frequently n only few hundred kbs, one can even update it on gprs

No doubt Avast is one of the good AV out there, but it failed most of the time in repair/clean an infected file. Almost all Free AV's failed to perform the same task, but this is not the case with Paid AV's like Norton, KIS etc..

I'm using KIS 2010, and i'm very satisfied with its performance..:)

^^yes muzux2, i don`t understand why such a grt AV can`t repair an infected file. I haven`t come any file till date which has been repaired by avast. Still i preder it to others.

Listen, mostly all keygens and cracks are caught as viruses...these are technically call false positives! Therefore AV's have something call Exception lists that u can add, so even when u run the files while av is on,it will not catch. Only Norton IS 2011 has implemented this late strangely which has been present throughout in other AV's.

BUT PLease keep in Mind that Anti-viruses by themselves are not enough...u need firewalls too. Therefore go for Internet Security Suites...Kaspersky 2011 is great...top notch protection AND cheap price subsidised for INDIA....AWESOME!!!

I have had really good experiences with AVG Free & Avira Antivir Free.....

I have been using both (Avg on Lappy & Avira on Desktop)for the past 3-4 years & have not had any issues.

:)

Use kis 2010. Used it for 1year and quite satisfied with it.

Now using F-Secure 2011. I've yet to see how it is in the long run but its good as of now.
