Rescued a baby bunny from our farmhouse 2 days ago. It's a male baby bunny. It had fallen into a pit & was being taken away by the village folks for making dinner out of it!! :@

It is less than a month old. I am presently feeding it milk and bits of carrot along with the vet prescribed multivitamins. I already have half a dozen dogs and cannot keep it as my dogs will eat it up for breakfast. :no:

Please let me know if anyone is interested in adopting the bunny. Would like a family that cares and preferably already has bunnies or has experience in keeping pets.

@nehal :

yes, i can take care of it.

Although i do have pidgeon in cage, but i doubt they have any rivalry and stuff.

Had a bunny only once though, but other than that, visitors were Eagles, pidgeons, turtles, sparrow, parrot, squierals etc etc ( even had a injured snake once, people were hitting it with steel rods :@ )

Where in mumbai are you from ? I have PM'd you.

Glad to know that :)

^^ I am overwhelmed by the care shown by fellow TEians... Thanx a lot people... :)

Thanx to the Mods for removing the unnecessary posts... :)

I think sunzeal is gonna get the little bunny... He has an excellent profile of keeping pets and even his parents are pet lovers. I am assuming the bunny has a great future in store.

Here is a snapshot of sunzeal's FB Album:

Great work sunzeal. I have previously rescued barn owls, cuckoos, parrots, tortoises, and cats. Dogs are my love and I am always surrounded by them! Will give you a call tomorrow as it is pretty late now... Thanx again... And thanx to everyone else as well... :)

^^ I don't live in an apartment. I have a house + compound all for myself. But keeping a dog in an apartment is not difficult either. You just have to make sure that they get out of the house 2-3 times a day atleast.

One of my friends who lives in an apartment has trained his dog so well that he lets it loose from the 5th floor apartment, the dog goes down, attends it's nature calls and returns all by itself!!! :lol:

You can start with a smaller dog... Like a pomeranian or dachshund or a pug.

Oh that's nice of you! I would have taken the bunny off your hands had I been in Mumbai.

On a side note - I would have really adopted the BUNNY if it were one of those hugh heffner bunnies (extremely rare species) which I thought it was. Pardon my thinking its early morning and me with a disoriented mind full of dreams from last night.

Believe it or not , Even my Cat had the habit of doing potti in our toilet :)

why ? what makes a difference, if you are a animal lover, you would just adopt any bird/animal which needs help not going by the rarity of the species.

woah, although i live in apartment, my mom never likes dogs and cats ( i mean as a pet ) becuase they poop so much, and that too specially poop on the sofa or bed :( :(

Even the pidgeons, i don't like to keep them in cage, have 1 room where they roam around, but they are like gigantic pooping machines :P

Will give you a call tomorrow as it is pretty late now.

yeah sure, call my anytime :)

^^ Surprizingly, in the 4 days I have had the bunny, I haven't see him poop... Or maybe his poop is so tiny that I never noticed it! :P

Yes, but I have seen him piss here and there once a day or so... Maybe coz his present diet is only milk based... :)

The Vet saw him today, just few minutes ago... She is a dear friend. She says that it is perfectly healthy but has asked me to continue with the multivitamins atleast till he starts eating all veggies on his own.

sunzeal, please remind me to give you the multivit bottle lest I forget that!!! :)

@sunzeal - it's really a nice gesture..

are you really that naive or am i missing the sarcasm :). Google Hugh Heffner just in case ;)

sunzeal collected the bunny about an hour ago... :clap: :clap: :clap:

Again, my thanx to all the TEians for the care and love they have shown to the poor little animal. :)

great work by nehaladsul & sunzeal :)

but nehaladsul if you dont mind my saying please encourage people who are looking to get a dog as a pet to adopt a stray/rescue dog. our pariah dogs and puppies are as cute as the rest plus they suit our weather/environment plus we discourage puppy mills plus those cute little things get a home (and they dont cost a bomb :P). again please dont mind, said with best intentions. cheers :hap2:

^^ I am taking care of about 5 stray dogs here in Khar and have another 6 strays at the farmhouse... :)

I recommended those breeds only coz he had said that he lives in an apartment and our pariahs are not really small sized when full grown...

I still remember how I used to share my school tiffin box with the stray dogs around my school. And my mum used to feel happy that I was eating my full tiffin religiously!!! :lol:

It is my experience that If one starts taking care of any dog, he eventually falls in love with the dog species and then automatically takes care of the strays in his/her locality. ;)
