Anyone left Reddit completely and moved somewhere else? What was your experience like?

I understand that as humans we have likes, preferences, narratives and whatnot. But I would never understand why people generally want to decide what/how you talk. It must take some degree of frail ego to feel that entitled.

TE thankfully doesn't have mods like that but members here surely show that mentality. Going out of their way to discipline others.

Closed communities which work for self interests works like that. But, here they call themselves doyens of openness and holders of humankind's empathy globule.
For eg., won't wonder if TE as a technical forum worked solely in interest of technical discussions.

yeah you can, good luck getting any engagement tho, its the same thing with youtube, smaller content creators have almost an impossible time gettting any kind of traction unless they focus on a specific niche where there aren't many content creators/invest a lot of money/time to grow their channel. And this wont even work on reddit, because you can create n number of posts, if people dont interact with it, its like screaming into the void.

let me give an example, there's a sub called r/IndianGaming2 which a user created when the mods of the original r/IndianGaming came back after their protest against the API monetization and were banning users right and left. Go and see what kind of engagement it has.

Most of the subs like r/India, r/bangalore, r/delhi etc were created years ago and just quietly increased their numbers, No one's gonna shake their position no matter how many users are dissatisfied with them.

nope, he'll get banned there too lol, he criticizes everyone plus IndiaSpeaks is just a bunch of rightist idiots, best would be IndiaDiscussion but its populated mostly by IndiaSpeaks idiots and is mostly crossposts of twitter trolls, comments from USI/India.

honestly, the best sub is GeoPoliticsIndia, it has a really nuanced discussion most of the time without the bullshit Hindu/Muslim politics.......... mostly

They seem to talk about almost everything. The #geopolitics section looked interesting but then I've been on a board discussing only that with ex personnel for over a decade.

The #politics bit again I'm interested in understanding policy.

I've been used to a tightly moderated forum that demands sources for every goddamn thing. Scholar like. This place looks easier

I prefer more international forums though. These places turn into echo chambers and next thing you know you're drinking the cool aid.
