For arcade racers, a wheel is useless and as I found out actually less fun than a gamepad.Nikhil said:Well, for racing, racing wheel > joystick > gamepad > keyboard.
But a racing wheel cannot be used for any other games aoart from racing.
That is why I prefer a joystick as it is more of an all rounder. and if you have abt 7K to spare for a MS Force feedback joystick, it will be really good.
There's no ability to use all that max lock, you find yourself constantly strugging with the wheel going from extreme left to right and all that dead zone in between. Maybe it wasn't configured correctly...
For simracing, a wheel is amazing.
Words cannot describe the feel. The entire experience is amplified 50 times no less.
The cheaper ones just won't do justice though, I tried the momo once and the generic ps2 wheels downright suck compared to it.
Only downside is it looks way too stupid playing a video game with a wheel.
Joysticks aren't generally preferred for racing, requires stable hands.
But whatever you're used to, I know people who use the lookup and lookdown keys coupled with the strafe modifier instead on mouselook.
