As usual I did the stupid thing of procuring the service before researching it in depth. But I'd still like to ask the good people of TE so I can be mentally prepared for any horror stories that might happen with me.

For me, so far it's been okayish. Booked a bumper replacement for the car, which the app said would cost a little over 3K, which I paid online. But after they picked up the car, I got an estimate for 13K. Then I asked them to remove the (to me) unnecessary services, post which they sent a revised estimate for a little over 6K, from which the initial amount I paid would be deducted.

This whole rigamarole I found a little shady, though I am glad they agreed to take off services without any hassle. But the treatment once the estimate was revised to 6K is markedly different. While with the 13K estimate they were quite enthusiastic about following up and all that, once the estimate was lowered, they're least bothered and I have to chase them for revised estimates, timelines etc.

This got me wondering if any members here have had any experience with these guys. So, please share your experience with GoMechanic if you have ever used it. Thanks.
 
All I know is GoMechanic is a franchise based business, just like McDonalds. Workers their are forced to do things which are not morally correct. So it's best to not have high expectations from GoMechanic.

Perhaps the desi "Raju Car Workshop" with denting painting services with no digital footprint could offer you a better experience, specially if you offer him extra money than his regular clients, because he runs his own buisness and is not forced under someone.

Although I would always recommend getting stuff done from the official workshop as they follow a strict protocol but seeing things are costly there... The next option is local shops... Yes it takes time and sweat, being there and asking a few and then zeroing on... But it's the cheapest and stuff is done in front of your eyes..
