I'm looking to buy a used laptop and this store has great prices but I'm unsure if it's a scam site or not.

Anybody used this site before?

Any other good site to buy used electronics?

I assume this is a dead thread but they do have a shop in Chennai (Spencer's Plaza) and if I remember correctly, they were the sponsors for one competition I was participating in.

Its a genuine site, is a Chennai based AFAIK.

However, I would suggest to stay away from refurbs if possible

I have helped 2 people who have bought refurbs laptops (1 recently and 1 earlier) and this is what I found

1. They do a basic minimal QA is possible. Laptop boots and works fine - job done. No extended tests are conducted. In this case, the thermal paste was shot. When the bios and drivers were updated, it started misbehaving with glitches.
2. Fake battery + shoddy Windows install. Ideally do a clean format. Battery will be swapped out when possible.

I remember checking this site long time back. But I have contacted their number and they do have a shop in Chennai. The guy told me that I can visit them directly to purchase the laptop in case I'm worried about buying it online. But yea, refurbs. My cousin has bought a refurb laptop, hp envy, from eBay India back in 2013 and it still runs without much troubles.

Bought a x230 with 240 gig ssd and 8 gb ram for 15k

Please do not buy from them. I had read this forum and had ordered a gaming laptop from them. They neither shipped and never refunded. They would just deliver fake promises of refunding. Ultimately I had to take the help of chennai police to get my money.

I can echo this sentiment completely. If you value your time, sanity and money — stay away from hilaptop.com

I purchased a P700 barebone for Rs 9499 on July 1st: https://www.hilaptop.com/in/p/Lenovo-ThinkStation-P700-30A9001DUS-Desktop-Black/4700

Their customer support is through Whatsapp on 9841410000. The person is extremely respectful, probably the nicest person I have ever interacted with when purchasing computer hardware in my entire life.

It took a month for them to confirm the listing was actually for a M700 barebone and they don't have actually photos because they're "just a middleman" buying from local stores and selling online.

They ignored every message/call/email of mine asking for a refund and instead offered to sell me a laptop or an ssd instead.

At the end, we agreed on two Lenovo M92 barebones for 8000 and remaining Rs 1499 for some DDR3 memory.

That was last week, I received the parcel today. The parcel contained what I would describe as "scrap".

There were two barebones, but no memory. Both of the barebones were dusty, rusted, dented with broken plastic panels that were taped up.

They weren't even the right model, one was a M71 the other was a M93. That's 2nd gen and 4th gen, somehow they though that would average out to two 3rd gens? I can't say.

And there was significant unrepairable socket damage on the motherboard because the cpu cooler was not screwed down.

And neither of the two barebones works or even powers on.
