At least the big brands give you some kinda warranty and stuff, unlike the no-name Chinese knock-offs which may work for a few months and then you either throw them away or try to get them repaired. No chance of getting them replaced.

What would be the value of your "Big Brand Phone" after one year. Less than half of what you invested & tech. wise also it would be obsolete. It wouldn't make sense for a middle class person to invest in such high end phones (good ones with all features as in chinese phones).

On the other hand if you select a good chinese phone model and use it carefully, I think it would last a year. That is VFM.

can any1 tell me which OS these chinese fones use? symbian or something like tht? can we add softwares to it?

NO info on these Chinese phone OS as of now, most phone u cant add software on ur own, very few Java capable phones are there on which you can add software but the choice is still very limited in that area.

Chinese phone come with so many feature that I have not needed any 3rd party software, I only want one blacklist software to stop unwanted callers.

Sorry ,

All dual sim Mobiles Have Both the Icons Flashing but Only 1 Works At One Time .two Cannot Work At 1 Time ,To Make Both work you Have To Select a Feature That Keeps rotating The Simms That Are currently working ,But If Someone Calls Both the Simms At the Same Time ,Only 1 Will Ring and You Cannot Hear Of Use The Another One .Its Not Possible ...

I have 2 Chinese phones.

1 works only 1 sim at a time as you describe,

but the other works both sim.

If I am talking on 1st sim & the 2nd sim gets a call I have an option to hold the 1st sim & talk to 2nd sim then get back to 1st sim.

else I can set a call redirect to both the sim each other number so then the call gets diverted to my busy sim & then I can hold the call as you would do with any single sim mobile.

You can even have a conference with 2 of your sim & another 2 separate caller who call u on different numbers.

Before posting please check ur facts, I provided u the links too which u asked for I have bought 7 mobiles till now for myself & family members & friends they all are working fine.

Chinese mobile will rule just bcoz they are so feature packed that most people cant believe.

Dual Sim Card Phone Manufacturers & Suppliers

As seen in the above link, are these available in delhi/India, what price range & any user experience to share?
I am getting fed up with marketing calls inspite registering in DNC & I cant change my number so I am thinking that I buy a new sim &use both so over 3-4 months I can be sure that my new number is with all my contacts then I discontinue the old number.

Nice link thanx

THe battery work around is to set the LCD brightness to lowest, its too bright & when playing the audio player come out of the audio menu to Home screen then the screen saver should come on & the screen will switch off saving you the power.

My phone has excellent battery life with these 2 settings, I charge it only after 3-4 days. Audio player if used regularly then it last for (external speakers)2 hrs only & on headphone its 3.5 hrs but my phone came with 2 batteries so I charge it while other is getting used.

Im located in Delhi: Im deciding to buy a new dual card phone. Currently I have a Nokia E68 but my phone bills are killing.Idea has launced a new lower tariff plan but they wont shift my existing number to the new plan.I propsoe to the lower tarrif sim card and use it on a dual sim phone.I would value advise based on experience:

I have read with interst the posts on using dual sim mobiles. I would like to know hwich brand/model is recommended? Ranjan mentions two models ZTCN328 and V3Oi from the Chinese range. Anyone else have experience and would liek to mention the brand model and price?

Sir ji what an idea :clap:

Yes you can do that with a dual sim phone, just make sure that you buy the model which allows 2 sim being used together then you will have both sim active at the same time........................& if u have too many callers then u will be mad quite soon talking on 1 & the 2nd one getting the calls.

I opted for dual sim which is not active at the same time bcoz I did not wanted to get disturbed from tele marketing calls, but I needed that no. too, so I have to switch to that sim once a day & retrieve my missed calls & if any no. I know then I call back, else I read my sms.

I mentioned that few months back so models may have changed you may get the same or may be newer models are available in the market, just ensure that you test the phone with 2 sims in it.

Chinese dual sims are available from 5500/- to 12000/-

Whats your budget?

Im looking for aphone at the lower end. A phone that is compatible to Nokia for data transfer purposes will be preferred.

The other non tech option is to force the CO to transfer my tarrif plan: This will involve complaining and fighting for a few weeks with the CO including compliants to TRAI and some lobbying. Im wondering which is the better way.

Chinese phone connect to XP/Vista & show up as PDA/mobile devices in windows explorer then you can do all kind of data transfer, these phones do not come with any software of its own. You can use some 3rd party drivers & softwares with them for address book transfer.

Forget about the two I have seen many THREE SIM Models in my local market here in small town

The only problem is the reliability but now even the service/repair is being provided for and even local seller gives 6 months warranty

ALSO THE BUILD quality is not that good but feaures are just too much Price Starts from 3000/ - 8000/

For 5000 rs you can get big touch screen phone with Tv Tuner.

How do you charge the spare battery?
Can it be charged out of the phone?
