Congratulations iPhone 16 series users, thanks to EU, your phone is completely compatible for swapping all OEM parts from one iPhone 16 to another. Now there is no need to program the parts separately, your phone will do all the calibrations itself and will log it in the service history, which can be viewed in the phone itself.

This is a very big help for 3rd party repair shops. All phone parts seem to be compatible. No special tools are required now.

Not to mention the new cool way to remove the glued battery. There are no adhesive strips now, you just apply a voltage on given battery tab, it will cause the reaction in the glue and the battery will detach itself automatically.

Edit - Not sure if this system works on older iPhones or not.

any wireless charger 3 in one recommendations that are on amazon india or at least available in india? i see a lot of chargers that say 23W but do not say Qi 2 because i assume they didn't bother to get the Qi certification.

i got this one - Virtutron Foldable Wireless... https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0D636LZQN

pretty good so far, portable too, been 2 weeks
i haven't noticed heating at all with this btw, it's basically on charge all the time when i am at my desk which is most of the time

btw icloud photos has to be the most frustrating cloud service i have used

This is going on since Saturday or even before that. I have tried charging to 100%, letting the laptop sleep, not letting it sleep, letting it discharge.... reimporting my library, importing my library first -> connecting to icloud after that, vice versa. This thing won't progress lol (same for for the days view which is stuck at Optimising Days 0%)

That’s… a LOT of photos and videos lol. Yeah, I’m also not a big fan of Photos sync. It’s remarkably slow at times even vs Google Photos on the same device.

I wonder if there is some rate limiting kicking in? Doesn’t make sense that even sync in laptop doesn’t work.

yeah I know, these are all the pics from 2011, haha

so last evening i did the following:

1. turn off icloud photos on both my mac and my iphone
2. remove the photo library from my mac
3. remove all pics from icloud (and recently deleted)
4. so at this point, everything is empty which is when I created a new photo library
5. enabled icloud photos on the photo library (after making it the system photo library)
6. started import of all my pics (did not tick "keep folder organisation" this time)
7. with icloud photos still off on my iphone, it instantly progressed to 17% and seems to have uploaded a few pics
8. now, it's looking much better after letting it cook over night
