since there was discussion about buying iPhone from Dubai, I just wanted to understand at what rate AED conversion is being calculated ?
lets assume one of my friend is on a Dubai trip and I ask him to get me a iPhone 14 Pro (base model) which is around 3700 AED..

what are the options for me to make payment to him..
- Transfer funds to his account and he uses his Debit or Credit card for the transaction in Dubai (which has markup charges, conversion charges, 2-3% card usage charges)
- Handover AED currency to him in India before he leaves (currency exchange rate will differ by 50-60p if u buy officially, will differ more than 1₹ if its unofficial)

Dont know why and how some people calculate forex just by multiplying current day's exchange rate and assume buying phones in Dubai is cheaper (off course its cheaper when compared to India) but the conversion rate varies depending on ur mode of payment, no one considers the additional cost included during final calculations.

@thegoodsamaritan gud luck with ur sale...

Calculate it todays rate plus 3% to 5% plus gst for CC/DC CARDS. For cash conversion it's varies anything from 1.5% to 5%.

yes this looks like correct calculation, even if it is upto 5% additional, it makes a difference of 5K

The thing with friends and folks that are bringing any device from USA, Middle East, Europe etc is that - generally their own quota of devices for themselves/immediate family gets overbooked the moment they plan traveling back to India. It's got a lot to do with luck as well.
Or, if you yourself are traveling and buying from those countries.. There's be a 5% mark up simply due to the conversion difference itself.

Still, it sets an absurd precedence when we start comparing prices of any object available in a random country without accounting for the additional charges that are sure to apply - conversion charges, cost of transportation, customs & taxes (if applicable) and so on.. That was my only concern with the gentleman who didn't seem to acknowledge that.

Anyway, back to the thread for sale again!

brand new day, brand new bump!!

Seriously guys, I really really like this particular variant and this is from an "Apple hater" lol. Mainly because of the dedicated dual SIM and 512GB storage. So that I can keep on creating content for my 30-40 WhatsApp Status viewers. :shy:
Anyone willing to call dibs on one of my kidneys? I'll mention it in my will and make sure it goes to you.
Anyway GLWS.

these days selling high end gadgets is PITA.
should go back to poco and redmi
You can sell it at the fraction of the cost to me and I'll happily get one off of your hands. ;)

multiple factors may be
- many prefer doing a local deal for expensive devices which costs above 40-50k, especially if its a iPhone
- few buyers now prefer to wait and import Pro series phones from Dubai / US
