^ some of the astronauts that went to space on nasa space shuttles were ordinary working people like school teachers, biologists, doctors, airforce pilots, etc.
in the coming centuries probably, even kids will be in space one day. and there is no such thing as a hardcore astronaut. everyone undergoes compulsory training to deal with issues in space.

OK, so for now, we have @6pack voicing all his doubts (smells another SCAM) --- Heck why do we Indian's see a "scam" lurking at every bend and turn of da road! :arghh: Moreover, guys here have'nt watched enuf of sci-fi movies or read books from H.G.Wells onwards.

Meanwhile Richard Branson & the Virgin group are making some things possible

Indian people seem to much frustrated with the scenario in this place and hence want to go anywhere but be here. :P

Salaried employee for 7 years before being sent to Mars to never come back. Why be employed then?

The entire thing seems dreadful to me. I won't visit the site meant for application in the fear that I might click the Apply button by mistake and get selected :eek:
 
Will HDFC or Kotak will finance the trip, if yes, then i will surely go there :P

Since i won't be paying back the loan amount :D
 
Wish there was this scheme to send the SSSSS's and the MMMM's and CCCC's outta space and never see them again on the power seat!
