Aptitude Tests for Jobs really needed or just for show off ?

To find details about the company.
First google the companies name. Then go through the company profile. You can get a gist of what the company deals.
Then search for the company in wikipedia,then in some fresher forums (i hope you know these).

This would give you a fair idea about the company.

Can you provide links to some Fresher forums?
I have heard of Chetana s World(www.chetanas.com) and fresher's world only
 
Hi TE'ians,

In a few days, L&T (ECC Division) is conducting a joint campus placement drive and i m eligible in it. :clap: After researching, i have come to know that selection consists of 3 steps : Aptitude < GD(if infotech)<Technical/HR interview.

Regarding aptitude ,there are 90 questions to be answered in 90 mins. with 3 sections : Quant, Logical reasoning & English consisting of 30 ques. each. As such it is mentioned that there is a sectional cut-off but how much, it isn't clarified. So what should be a reasonable attempt from a candidate's perspective in order to clear the aptitude round and proceed to the next ? :S

Also, what do u guys suggest for preparing upto the mark cos this is my first time before this, i haven't even done any kind of coaching for competitive exams so ain't familiar with any kind of shortcut methods et al ! :ashamed:
