I would disassemble the hell out of the heat sync. Clean up everything with isopropyl alcohol. Clean all the dust off the fans. Get good quality thermal pads and thermal paste. Re-paste and reapply the thermal paste and the assemble it again. Would see drastic temp improvements. I did it with one of my out of warranty rx 570 and temps were down by 10 degrees. If I take risk with my aging 1060 which is out of warranty it might simply die so No, no mining for me as of now though I did try in 2017 and lost interest after 6 months
Its too much hassle when the gain would be somewhere round 100rs per day. Not worth the trouble specially in these times if your GPU goes boom then get ready to pay 25k for 1650 lolI would disassemble the hell out of the heat sync. Only thing sucks is that it voids the warranty if you do this to your in warranty GPU in India (all brands including NVIDEA). Otherwise would've done it to my GPUs.
Actually my suggestion was more focused on getting better temps. Since your gpu is out of warranty, you can do the cleanup without worrying. Actually I love these mini DIY projects, that's why suggested you to do tooIts too much hassle when the gain would be somewhere round 100rs per day. I get it bro and its a good suggestion if AMD launched these upcoming APU's I would have tried but not at the momentActually my suggestion was more focused on getting better temps. Ethereum is still not that ASIC friendly yet, once it does, then GPU mining is a dead and we'll see dip in prices or market flooded with after market GPU.isn’t using gpus to mine stupid?? especially when they are using asics?

Chinese mining firm Bitmain has released a teaser of the company's upcoming Antminer E9 Ethereum miner. The company stated that the Antminer E9 would launch very soon, although it didn't commit to a specific date.Would be interesting to see how this shakes up the gpu market.New Ethereum ASIC Mines Like 32 GeForce RTX 3080 GPUs

Lol. I sold it last year in Nov when I got a good deal on 1660 super during Amazon sale.Bruh. How many GPUs do you need, spare the rx570 so a needy fellow like me can play Tetris. I'm calling dibs on it.
Then dibs on your 1660S which you are going to sell next week because you come to realize that in these trying times, sharing is caring.Lol. I sold it last year in Nov when I got a good deal on 1660 super during Amazon sale.
