Ummm I think you did not get my post. I meant - some of them who wanted to play the game so badly and who generally goes for the illegit downloads over the original ones got pwned in the end. Ubi made them buy a legit copy that way! :P

As for the ones, who opts for a legit copy all the time, they have nothing to lose.

Can you access all areas ? Coz from what I know, all the game files are not in the original package, so the Skidrow release must be having the missing files in their release.

So only the crack may not work properly with the original version, but if it does flawlessly then its neat work by the group(not saying that its not already :)).

:D I sometimes buy original games if the game is well worth the money spent. Thinking of getting the original anyway. Torrent is slow. :ohyeah:

In the case of movies, I download and watch and if it worth watching, I watch it in the irritatingly expensive theaters. I saw Dark Knight [bluray rip] then went to see it in the theaters.

Entertainment is overpriced :@

yea that's not going to happen. the drm system works with a challenge/response and trigger system that will be unique to every game.

also, in case you didn't know, the skidrow crack has been nuked because they stole db values from the p2p emulator. and the values they stole were outdated too, which means the game is unplayable beyond sequence 12 (i think). this also means they cannot crack any other ubisoft games until they can steal the p2p values db again. that is why they had to 'protect' their crack which got reverse engineered too :rofl:

you're delusional if you think ubisoft hasn't won this round. their game went unpirated for a month. when is the last time that happened? the aim was to prevent second hand sales and eradicate 0day piracy and they did that just fine. their other games remain uncracked too right? not sure about that.
 
Ubisoft is hitting on a stone wall to be honest.

There is no way I am buying any game in the future that needs more than 1 time activation. That is fine with me, but this completely sucks. I bought the game on day 1 and god knows how many times it booted me out because i was running torrent in background that I gave up on the game in 2 days.

No matter how good the game is, I will not give my money to a developer which does not let me use my internet connection as I wish.

You do realize that with a complex DRM like this, Ubisoft can easily change a few things here and there and its back to square one for the crackers. It can be as simple as changing a few encryption keys.

In fact it would be insulting to the hacker groups when the people say their work is going to be easy. Just because the protection in a game has been hacked doesn't mean that they would be easily able to do it in other games using the same DRM.

Err, watched the blue ray rip before seeing it in theatre????

Huh, find that hard to believe coz normally blue-ray rips arrive about 4 months after the movie got released!! :S
