Asura's Wrath - Discussion Thread

Completed the demo and it left me wanting for more. It's a complete QTE fest, but the scale of the game is EPIC. The American voice acting is completely pathetic. Gameplay is extremely weird. At times, it plays like a Dragonball Z style VS match and the rest is filled with random QTEs. Amidst this chaos, I got a gist of the storyline and the reason for Asura's "Wrath". It's the usual father needs to protect his family from being slaughtered by some evil warlords. I noticed the cut-scenes were a bit pixellated. Then I realized, developers still continue to use the shitty BINK video compression. Seriously?

Anyway, grab the 674MB demo. It really offers a good deal of gameplay footage.

Got it off PSN today, liked it, now please just price it right.

Its QTE based mostly btw. I won't spoil the rest.

Edit: Ethan_hunt nailed it.

Game delayed by 2 weeks, not sure why they want to mess with ME3

Maybe they don't want to do well?

Just 6 hours of gameplay? That's a tad too less IMO. And sadly this seemed to have lowered the overall score as well.

Don't look at the score, just go through the video review. It's been praised on the gameplay part. Besides, 6 hours is more or less standard for action games these days.

Dinesh, Does this game save only towards the end of a chapter? I couldn't spot a auto-save happening, at any point. during the first episode.

I think so because I played through the first 15~20 minutes to get a glimpse of the game, all those cutscenes and QTE happened but a save did not happen unfortunately. When I had quit to the main menu, the option of continuing was greyed out.

Yes Chapter end save only though chapters are small in length

That's what I thought. This is typical DMC and Bayonetta style saving, which I loathe.

The only chapters which are fun to play where Tasha comes in then the game feels like Ninja Gaiden

quixie, the game appears to be a tad too short going by the total gameplay hours. I'd say skip it as long as you could grab a second hand copy. A copy for the PS3 retails for almost 3.2k on eBay!
