The Asus U32U is a new thin and light laptop from Asus. It looks a bit like an ultrabook, but measuring about 0.9 inches thick, it’s just a little too chunky to qualify. More importantly, the Asus U32U is powered by an AMD processor, and Intel owns the trademark on the word “ultrabook.â€

The notebook will be available with a choice of an AMD C-50, AMD C-60, or AMD E-450 processor. The higher the model number, the more powerful the chip — but these are all budget, low-power processors. Don’t expect bleeding edge performance from the Asus U32U. But these AMD processors all feature AMD Radeon HD graphics, which means that the notebooks should be able to handle 1080p HD video playback without breaking a sweat… as well as some light gaming duties.

Asus will offer models with 320GB or 500GB hard drives and 44Whr or 83Whr batteries. All models will come with 1 USB 3.0 port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, VGA, mic, and headphone jacks.

The computer has a 1366 x 768 pixel display and supports up to 8GB of memory.Model with the smaller battery, it will weigh about 3.4 pounds. The higher capacity battery increases the weight to 3.9 pounds.

Brazos are a bit disappointing. With Trinity on the line, these don't sound good. Not for above average user. BTW you haven't mentioned the notebook size? #[member='Dark Star']

^^Why Brazos is a disappointment ? Have you used it ?

Even working with it in 1080 +multitasking, there wasn't any lag.

On Topic- Screen is 13", trinity will bring slew of other ultrathin lappies.

#[member='babhishek'] - No idea as of now, will update soon.

Yeah, used in one Acer laptop (don't remember the model). Its fine for normal usage, but no where near to Intel counterparts. I mentioned this due to the reason that since going by aesthetics/built of this laptop, I'm the expecting the price on higher side which would be further aptly complimented by chipping in a SB. Brazos are fine for laptops only under 25k (IMO), which this laptop is surely expected to cross. Just my view mate.

Im sorry but im confused here. Which brazos are you talking about?

I used to think C50 and C60 are brazos while E350 and E450 are fusion. But seems all of them are being called brazos.

So could please each of you Dark Star and JuGGa tell if you are talking about a C series or E series AMD chip ?

^^ #[member='guptavis'] Brazos is an architecture, using it C and E series (G Series for embedded platform, Z for tablets) are made.

C30/50/60 - codenamed Ontario, is low power APus with 9W TDp.

E300/450 - codename Zacate, is a higher performance /power APUs with 18W tdp.

Both comes under Brazos platform, the only difference is the CPU speed.rest of the cache/gpu config remains in the same. Fusion is the brand under which all APU falls (C,E,A - Series).
