tomorrow am also getting a cable net connection. have no idea how it will have to be configured; i also have ddwrt on my router (a different make & model).
yes, will do; although upon talking to them y'day i was told that only the credentials need to be entered, but the actual process will be revealed only when the set-up is done. installation is yet to be done; may be by today evening.

99% case u may just have to enter the assigned ip address, subnet and gateway as ur wan settings. Ur internal lan settungs will remain unchanged
just got the cable-net connection.
using it on my laptop through ethernet successfully, but still trying to figure out how to make wifi work (may create a new thread about it).
for ethernet, you just need to login using the provided credentials.

By default yes , you have to upgrade fw and then play with the settings to get 144-300mbps.
on the asus stock fw will i be able to achieve that ? what settings needs to be changed ?
changing the channel width and keeping the wifi key as WPA2+AES should suffice .I dont have the router now but these settings generally give you the link speeds.
