I had a X-fi extreme Music before....it sounded good till I heard a asus xonar dx...
The sound of x-fi was bit hard and was really kind of artificial...
Now, I own a Asus Xonar DX and it really sounds far far better than the x-fi...
and @ TORCH .... please do some research on sound cards before you state these lines...
Conclusion: Xonar is far superior in both movies and music than the x-fi .
And regarding EAX ...Now a days most games have dolby digital....lolz

Huh? That's makes no sense, at all. For music and movies a sound card does nothing, absolutely NOTHING at all other than output the software rendered audio stream. The only factor that matters is the SNR and other measurements pertaining to the physical output quality. Any aftermarket sound card is almost imperceptible from one another in this respect for any audio system you're going to hook up to a PC.
