no need for ANOTHER operating system like web os as i said earlier just tieup with google should be good.

and as far as hardware goes if hp is losing money on discontinued product like touchpad they would not make another million just to keep customers (un)HAPPY while they all know the product and support is no longer exist.

Small company like micromax can afford to sell A70 at almost half the price of competition when compared hardware features, sure hp can do the same.

Congrats! Trying to get the same for my dad. So what is the source of the news that Android can be ported to this? That would be awesome.

There's a $2000 bounty on xda for a port of android for this device.:thumb:

Excellent dude. You saved TE's reputation :P I will be getting mine soon (its waiting in the US) :D

Small company like micromax can afford to sell A70 at almost half the price of competition when compared hardware features, sure hp can do the same.

They usually have contracts signed for manufacturing like 5 million devices in the 6 month time frame, and this enables HP to get discounts on cost of manufacturing.
Now the assumption is the charges for breaking such contract is higher than the loss they are incurring by selling these things at 100/150 bucks each.

And about android, it would be stupid to dump your 1.2 Billion investment in WebOS and just start using Android.
They would have to sell WebOS first, and then they can put a new OS on their devices.

Micromax doesnt have comprehensive quality control for their products, this reflects in the final product and enables them to reduce cost.
The cheap build quality and high failure rate are something that will destroy the image of a company, but micromax offsets this with real low cost.

Also the very perception of Android being free is far from reality, as Microsoft and Apple have lawsuits against all Android manufacturers as Android infringes way too many patents.
Google was never bothered about this earlier, but now for combating this they have spent 12.5 Billion for Motorola.
