Will ATI 4890 run on VX 450 ?

VX 450 has one 6 pin connector but ATI 4890 requires 2x 6pin pcie connector

Yea it can manage comfortable. The 2nd PCI.E connector can be fabricated via the molex converters.

A vx450 actually provides 550W+ with decent
efficiency and low ripple.

Yes, tests have proven so. But there must be a reason that Corsair underrated this unit. I would never map 550W --> 450W.

I has the somewhat similar combo 4870 + 450 vx. The 12 volt rails was close to 11.8-11.9 volts. Though it is in spec I felt that it will be a over for the SMPS. So it is better to be safe and get a bigger SMPS.

I am planning to run ATI 4890 on VX 450 for max 3 months.

Will try to get TX 750 ( ATI 5870 crossfire ) and be done with PSU upgrade for 2 years at least

Actually i am buying too many thing this month so can't afford TX 750 now

Its either TX 750 or Full HD monitor

I chose Full HD monitor

Bad decision. Get the PSU first.

I thought you had P2350 :S

I still have it. Its my Dad's rig whose Samsung 2233SW+ of his i7 920 rig that went kaput.

So he took mine Samsung P2350 , as his work can't be delayed.

I was planning to get another Samsung P2350

Well now i am monitorless and browsing through my DAD's rig ( after lot of requsts allowed me to touch his rig )

Won't VX 450 hold on till 3 months till i get TX 750 ?

I really have limited budget guys ?

some many threads ur really tired workin it out on your rig:p

get vx 450 frst with a full hd monitor
