I trid to uninstall avira antvir but everytym i do , it restarts comp by itself.
wats the pronb wid it
is it virus n how to remove avira
 
Could be a bug in AV itself, though I never used it so can not confirm. Try uninstalling it from safe mode.
 
If not able to uninstall , delete all folders having avira files present in program files,common files folder in program files & run registry cleaner to remove it completely.(you can also search for avira & then delete all)
You can also use third party uninstallers as well.

If XP says the file is in use, then try unlocker to remove the link between process using that file or stop that process from task manager.
 
^^ one cannot do this to antiviruses. Antivirus files are deep integrated into system and doing this cause it to error out

Well you can do this but you should not,(not because of the deep integration though)

you can do it though yes its error prone as you do not know what all area this AV has copied its file and it may monitor those if running. So its better to do at safe mode, One can actually start from registry; here ALL drivers need to enter their details so that system will boot them at run time (hklm\system\CCS\services), so all you got to do is remove specific keys and AV driver will not load next time you boot your system. Second the auto start service, this can be easily removed using msconfig. Once sure that all auto launch components are not loaded, one can start removing it. But still this is not recommended and I will not suggest to this, OP may rather check with Avira support.

I have already removed norton in the past but as others pointed out it is not recommended & painful, still it works if you do it carefully.

Well man you are not understanding.

What if OP tried to install another AV and that AV detects avira installed. What OP will do then? He will have to reinstall the whole os. Uninstalling an AV properly is really important.

Did you noticed even I said it is not recommended. So I was not suggesting him to use it.

I was commenting that reason is not "deep integration" as stated.

On X86 based OS, most of the AV hooks major sections in Kernel SSDT and few other areas. But if it is not loaded you *can* remove it if one apply proper knowledge. Without worrying about integration with OS.
