John says the Quad-Core Opteron systems had already been submitted to the benchmark organizations for testing. The results are all under NDA and will only be released on launch date, September 10, 2007. Because they are under NDA, he cannot reveal the actual results, but he gave us some interesting indications of how the Barcelona will eventually fare against an equivalent Intel processor.

Man this is great news for both Intel and AMD fans....for AMD fans its time to rejoice because they have something to boast for after a long gap....for Intel Fans its price drop time.

talked to a senior AMD official around 1 month back and he said to me that AMD is coming back with a bang and he was quite confident about it :D ....

Payback time...even more so...with interest....:hap2: This looks like its going to bash conroe/yorkfield in a bigger way than conroe did to the X2...

clock to clock 150% faster...wow...can it be as good as this...lets see...
 
This is good news... Competition is always good for the end user in all the aspects... Let it price front or the performance front... The bar for performance goes higher and the bar for the price goes lower... End results cheap and faster rigs...

Hopefully the gfx war will also warm up sooner :)
 
I hope for AMDs and our sake its true.

We all need AMD to be back with bang. Or Intel will go the Mafia way :P ( Sorry Intel fanboys but thats the truth :P )
