Guys..thanx for all d help in buying me a digicam...Now i want a good set of rechargeable batteries AA size...Which one should i go for??

It should be reasonable in pricing but have a good battery life...

Sanyo Eneeloops - 600 bucks for 4 of them, will last you 1-2 years at least depending on use. A Sanyo Charger would cost 500 bucks while any Indian quick charger would be 200-300 bucks. Look for a quick charger only.

I just bought the same camera and the above mentioned batteries :)

Cheers !

Its 2000 Mah. But it has a very slow discharge rate. If you charge them to 100% and use them after a year, it will still have about 70% charge. So if you use your camera rarely these are the best bet.

You can also see Kodak 2700 mAH NiMh batteries , cost me 350 for 2 poeces , give around 350-400 shots on my Nikon Coolpix L18

I prefer Uniross 2700 mAH.. I use them with my Sigma EF-500 DG Super Flash gun.. Its one of the best i've used..

If you use your cam occasionally - Sanyo Eneloop or Sony Cycle Energy are the best ones as are low self discharge types and they keep charge for a long time and don't need frequent recharging.

I use Kodak.. I can take 300-400 shots easily on Panaosonic LZ8.. 2700mAh.. They cost you around 350 bucks for a pair. Charger included!!

hi,

I have just bought an LZ8 camera and have received a uniross charger with 2 NiCd 800 mAh batteries with it from the dealer. The user manual of the camera though says that NiCd batteries are not suitable.

Since this is my first digital camera, can someone enlighten me as to whether I can use these batteries or should I try to trade them for NiMH batteries?

Thanks in advance.

Trade them for NiMH batteries. Get at least 2700 MAH batteries or get Sanyo Eneloop 2000 mAH batteries. The Sanyo batteries are low discharge batteries. Even after a year they will still have about 60% charge.

Waah! I was just about to post the same query. I use Sony 2700mAh rechargeable batteries with my LZ8. The flash recharge time seems to be very slow. :( Its as large as 2secs! :O

I'll need to try out some other batteries with more juice to spare. Any suggestions?

i experienced the same thing with sanyo enleeops with my lz8. the screen will blank out and wake up only after a second or two. i dont think using other batteries would help.

If your camera accepts only 2 cells its obvious the flash recharge will take 5~6 secs. Some models like s3is uses 4 batteries this can cut short the recharge time by half. Ni-cd has over low internal resistance like Li-Po Li-ion cell. Flash recharge time is much faster compared to NiMH. The only problem with Ni-Cd is memory effect

According to the manual this screen blanking is normal.
