WTB Beginner's PC

Want a beginner's PC with decent gaming capability under 20k.
What decent gaming exactly? I mean what games do you want to play?

I think you will have to go for quite a few used components to meet somewhere close to decent gaming.

If it is mostly for gaming in that budget I would suggest buy Xbox series s which is being sold used for somewhere 22k-27k.
And buy Xbox games pass for 3 years( if it is still working) for 4k .

You will be making much better investment if gaming is main priority.

You could get an Athlon 3000 with an inexpensive A320 motherboard PC (not including monitor, could use HDMI TV). It would run win11 and **some older games**. If gaming is your primary need suggest to go for console as @solo_wing said.

I build and sell/resell i5-3470/4+4Gb Ram/64GB boot ssd/Rx560 4GB pcs at around 14k, let me know if that interests you. CPU and GPU are refurbished. Can add a 500GB refurbished HDD, for an additional 1k but I'm not confident it will survive shipping.

I am intreasted in buying 1060 3gb for Rs 5000 - 6000. Where can I get it?

Word to the wise, don't. 3GB is way too less even for 1080p. Horrible stutters/frame spikes happen if you overflow the VRAM.
There are a handful of games now which stutter bad on this card but work with playable framerates on 1050Ti.
Thanks for the tip. The card is intended for plex/jellyfin transcoding (on an old secondary machine) and not gaming though. Want the cheapest solution for H264 NVENC @ 1080p. I mostly play slow strategy games at 1080p which even the onboard graphics have no problem with, but I use a GTX 1060 GB.. LMAO, some of the spectacles I need make a GPU look cheap ;). My avatar is stolen from a game called Brotherhood of Steel :), probably in a museum now.

Hello everyone thanks all for sharing your insights. I am bit late in responding.
Would prefer a PC over a console simply that gaming won't be the only purpose.

Atleast give some details like what games and what pc use you have in mind. So that people can guide you better .

You might end up buying something that might neither satisfy your needs for gaming neither your productive pc uses.

Games would be GTA V and Apex Legends.
Other purposes: Watching movies, College Projects, etc.

Note: This is for a cousin of mine and not for myself. Thanks for sharing.

I completely understand it's a wild west out there on FB that's why I intentionally cropped out the sellers name.
I do know this person selling the GPU he lives few kms from my home, have bought some stuff from him in past and this is the only reason I shared the screenshot of his listing here.

Would recommend you get a system which atleast supports latest Operating System like win 11. An AMD AM4 platform can get you started cheap with athlon 3000 while having plenty of headroom for upgrading and/or graphics card for gaming later. Do select a B450 or B550 motherboard since it will have the most scope for upgrade and have PCIE 3/4 respectively. Without a GPU you can use a much cheaper powersupply, but you may have to change it if or when you buy a GPU.
