Let alone abroad purchases, people dump here stuff just ordered 24hrs ago from amazon etc. stating not needed. Well if it was never needed then did you ordered in drunk state or somebody made you order it at gunpoint or either you are so much restless, anxious or poor decision maker in nature you keep ordering stuff and keep dumping on olx and forums!Adding some new flavor to this thread that was not already covered, *Reasons for sale*
I have seen quite a few posts where items were bought abroad and being sold here and the reasons for sale were so silly it's almost clear it was bought with the purpose of re-sale. Now, I don't think there's anything wrong with doing that, if it's a good deal vs official Indian pricing, but either be open about it or provide more believable "reasons". The community is smart enough to see it.
E.g. Guy created a thread asking what to buy, community tells him NOT to buy product 'A'. But, not only does he buy product 'A', but buys 2-3 units of them and then gives weird reasons for selling them. All while the invoice clearly showing a markup in price close to Indian pricing w/o warranty.
PS - I am not talking about items officially imported where the buyer may have paid duties/customs/etc, i'm talking about hand carried by self/friends/relatives.

this sounds like olx public. i got a offer for a logitech wheel saying he was getting from xxx price from dubai so i told him to get it from there only yet he wanted me to sell mine to him for that xx price. Stupid peopleSome gentleman from Mumbai wants me to sell a RAM for ₹3700 even when I have mentioned that I don't intend to sell it for less than ₹4000.
He is insistent and told me that his friend got the same ram from Amazon for ₹3600 (after card offers), so I told him to buy it from Amazon itself and not to send me any further messages.
But he is still bothering me with his continuous RUDE messages. He even threatened to report my messages to admin - for selling a ram for my own determined price?
I have 'ignored' this gentleman (by pressing the tab in his profile) but I am still receiving his messages and its notification. Is there any way to totally block this gentleman?
PS - if you are reading this - I have not mentioned your name in public as I don't want to continue this discourse here. Kindly don't start your mudslinging by replying here.
Unfortunately it works both ways.Imagine desperately wanting to buy something here for your own use but someone else buys it before you do saying he also needed it. Only to re-sell it to someone else. What kind of behavior is this...
You referring to the case giveaway? I'm sure that the guy is gonna resell it.Imagine desperately wanting to buy something here for your own use but someone else buys it before you do saying he also needed it. Only to re-sell it to someone else. What kind of behavior is this...
This I have highlighted earlier as well...few more guys who order via amazon and sell here just in next few days stating not required... either they order stuff while they are drunk or they are forcefully made to order on gunpoint or they are in some other pressure... Why sale here for 10 bucks less when the same can be returned to amazon for a full amount refund..there is a guy, who distress sells new phones every month.
the reason for sale is need cash and he manages to buy 6 figure phones all the time.
either its a clear bluff or he needs some sessions with a shrink!
anyone noticed this?
I am currently facing this with a deal I paid for a week ago. Haven't gotten a response for 3 days now. They will commit to a sale and then simply not reply
Might be the friend of a friend of a friend of Ambani's in-law who refreshes with every new models. And oh they are rich so they don't need invoice or warranty.there is a guy, who distress sells new phones every month.

Or swapping the products or some sort of Fraud (https://techenclave.com/threads/fra...ore-you-purchase-any-2nd-hand-product.204027/)Regarding buying on Amazon etc and immediately reselling here maybe they get credit card points to use as cashback ? Some GST refund sh@t ? I don't get it .
Report to the mods if not already done.I am currently facing this with a deal I paid for a week ago. Haven't gotten a response for 3 days now.
This seems like a dig at me, but wouldn't be the first. I've explained my posts and have given enough methods to validate in another thread so , I'm not gonna do it again, also it's OT as you rightly said. Whilst I cannot speak for others, don't we all have a friends who are into tech, just like us, but do not want or have the time to be on TE? Can we not help them out? As long as it's within some limits or the seller has some explanation (which you need to ask instead of sitting quite and making judgments/accusations and trying to figure 'sh@t' out on your own.)Ok I'll chime in too , slightly OT ,
But what's with selling for a friend crap all the time ?
