OMG sTALKEr dont intimidate him already; :P

Let the Bloomfield arrive and Lord will be at it again; :D

Nope not necessarily with the PSU on top on the 830 and that u can mod the T01 to fix the fans at the right spots; :P

Even the A900 might beat the 830 if a couple of fans could be fixed on the side panel; ;)

Mods...who said anything about mods? We're talking about the best air cooled cases out there. Modded RX7's whack M5's in 1/4 mile runs. Doesn't mean they're better...What's wrong with the PSU atop the 830? Use a PSU with a push-pull fan config and see the extra heat dissipated out the back of the PSU ;)

The A900 is built like high quality tin-can. I've reviewed it, there's no comparison to the 830, although cooling of the A900 isn't bad.

Modding any high-end CM is a sad job, their sheets are such thick guage that its better left untouched. And hardly anybody needs to mod an RC830 :P

Nahice; :D

I shall take that as a self oWnage from your side cos most of the users resort to bottom-mounted PSUs for a better cable management and a better airflow rather than the PSU itself sucking up the heat inside the cabinet making the PSU fan spin rather faster resulting in more noise; :P

Not unless you've the right tools like KMD does; :P

And nobody would want to mod an enclosure having spent 14 grand for it, do they??? :P

We're not talking abt the most expensive cabinet but the best air cooled one and OP has not mentioned anything abt mods not being attempted at; ;)

Lol, who'd want to shell out 13k when the same can be achieved for less than 10k including a top-notch paint job and necessary modding; :P

I vote for the 830 if the OP has a budget-no-bar issue; :D

:offtopic:

If gannu and vandal debate is over.....

Lian Li PC-P80 for the win ........best case IMO

@vandal
who mods a RC830....

Stacker T01;
Nothing beats it at the 9k price point; :D
U can have it modified to fix the fans at the required spots as well; KMD route FTW!!! :D
Gannu- you mention the wrong one.
810 with 2x120mm at the rear is the better case for air-cooling- not T01.

Lol Gannu^^ The 810 is great for water cooled setups, not air...
The RC830/832 is still the best air cooled cabby around.
I've used both, owned both...still have my 830, got off in mint condition from RiO :)
Vandal- T01 is the better case for WC- a modder's delight wrt Rad placemnt options.
And to all- 830/832 is good but ain't one of the best cases for air-cooling. :)

And Lord Nem-
Stacker 810 if you have the money= for the sheer size of the same and the space that offers immense workability inside.
CM590 if you want something cheaper.
Especially looking at the no. of HDDs you wanna install.
Should also be a very good option for less wihout compromising on ventilation offered. :)

And then there are offering from Silverstone and Lian-li that can be considered if it fits the budget.

Top mounted psus are a big no-no for me now.
The psu fan (meant for cooling the innards of the psu) acts like an exhaust fan providing hot air from cpu area and all the other hot air that rises to the top of the case.
PSU runs hotter.
Noise is not that much of an issue to me but the high ambioents in non-AC Indian homes and inside cases causes lot of undue harm ot the psu.
Affects stability and signal purity and efficiency and life/reliability too. :(

Bikey caught me too..... callin a 810 and T01 the same....:bleh:....

beware of Bikey....

Naa I knew they both were diff already but seems like T01 comes with 80mm fans everywhere;

Lol I said hardly anybody would...
Very few people mod modena's too. But they do exist. ^^Gannu I'm one of those people who doesn't really have a max budget when I purchase ;)
Of course all this is OT. Hatchet buried ;)
Btw that's an awesome mod
^^bikey no arguments about the ST01 and 810 being better for H20 cooling.

No. :)
T01>

It comes with 1x120mm at the rear and 1x80mm at the top.

No of 120mm intakes depends on the no. of HDD cage modules used.

Optional 80mm on the side panel of the non-windowed one.

Dual psu capable with psu cage at the top and the primary position for the same.

The lower psu opening comes with a metal cover that can accept 2x80mm fans.

Same can be done to the top if the psu is used at the bottom.
810 comes with 2x120mm at the rear as i said earlier, the top 80mm and psu can be mounted only at the bottom.

Inatkes same as T01.
Also, iirc, the 810 doesn't have the crossflow fan or even the necessary intake+mount even as an option but most T01 users give it a miss anyways. :)

Bit off topic but Do u know Thermaltake is going to come in India...

Ya PhOeNiX told me when i met him...

Guy's I have done some research myself on the internet and here are the findings.

NZXT Zero

Made of Aluminium and weighs a little less than 8Kg which is a feat indeed for a cabinet of this size. There are lots of fans and the HDD cage can take 6 HDD. Build quality is poor and the HDD is not any better than the one I have now in my Jamaica. if you install 6 HDD, there is nothing to cool them properly. The fans are all low RPM, low CFM and need to be replaced anyway.

NZXT Tempest

Looks like a decent cabinet for the price. Has facility to install 8 HDD. Lots of 120 and 140mm fans. Inverted Layout. Weight is a decent 11.2Kg. But its currently not available in India.

Antec 900

Compatibility issues with some long Graphics cards. Not worth considering.

Antec 1200

Look pretty good. Support for 9 HDD. A bit taller than my Jamaica. Weighs about the same as my Jamaica i.e 15Kg. Space for lots of fans. Just need to replace the stock fans with higher CFM ones if reqd. Not sure about availability in India. Worth considering.

CM Cosmos 1000/1100(S)

Looks pretty good on the outside. 6 HDD in Cosmos and more in Cosmos S. Several issues with the cabinet. Weight is 17Kg for Cosmos and 15Kg for Cosmos S.

CM Stacker 810

I have heard a lot about it, but could not find a single review in which I could see how its layed out. Needs modding to support additional fans. HDD support good. Looks a lot larger than my Jamaica. That may be an issue.

Stacker 830

Great HDD Support. PSU not in the bottom, removable motherboard tray. support for 9 x 120mm fans.

well as I said before.... u won't a lot of reviews of 810.... to understand its internals and layout a reviews of stc-t01 gives a much better idea.....

I still believe they look like twins :bleh:

No, Its a completely different case (though some design elements have been retained) and from the reviews it looks awesome too compared to the Antec 900.

^^Yeap Antec 300 and 1200 aint available in India so far but I bet it'll make it to the market soon enough; :)

Dunno if this helps, but Rio has a T01 lying at his bangalore place which i guess he wants to sell..
