Best earphones for around $30?

I was looking at Sony MDREX55LP/B. They don't necessarily have to be earplugs, I'm just looking for the best quality around that price range.
 
If you could mention the sound signature you are looking for, you would get better replies.

Amarbir has openbox re2 for 1250, that's a great option if you are looking for balanced sound.

brainwavz m1 preorder price of 30$ too is a good option if you are looking for excellent mids, good bass.
 
^ +1 for Porta Pros. Could also try Sennheiser PX100. In IEMs you have JVC Marshmallows, RE-2 etc.
 
I'm looking for something balanced. Brainwavz M1 is getting some pretty sick reviews by those stereophiles. Think I'll preorder that one.
 
Yup M1 is pretty good but I say if you can pitch that extra $ for the M2 get it without second thoughts. It sounds too good for a 49$ IEM. Easily as good as the ones's double its price.

I'm looking for IEM's, already have the PMX100. I was looking at the JVC Marshmellows and the mod you can do for it. But at stock its supposedly outclassed by the cheaper Senn CX300 though its bass is supposed to be a little too good for what I'm looking for. And yeah there's RE-2, Sure E2C.

I might just do that if M2 is that much better. Checking out some more reviews.

The Difference in M1 is Patal Log and M2 Is Indra Lok Lol .Go For M2 if You Can Stretch ,Also Pl30 And M9 Are Good options Along With Pl18 ,Pl20,Pl21 Etc .If you want the earbuds go for soundmagic ph10 .
 
According to most reviews especially |joker| and Mark, M1 and M2 have similar SQ. Mids are the same, low bass quantity, bass extension slightly better in M2 and M2 has more sparkle in highs. M2 has narrower soundstage compared to M1. And M1 might play better with amps as it has higher impedance. Of course those who love bass would definitely prefer M2 and by his own admission Amarbir is a "basshead" :D

Basshead True But Peeps Have Spolied Me Now a days .I have a RE0 Damn stuck in my ears with biflange tips with a near to impossible tight seal and i hear bass in re0 lol ,you people have spoiled me damn you lol
 
^ M1 has better soundstage!!?? yeaaa!

my m1 + s:flo is inbound, i ordered a day after the m2+s:flo offer ended ( which i realized after buying, cause they had m2 in the pick) .AND i have ample amping power to drive m1

and BTW m2 is again up at $59, your best bet is to order via amarbir. that is if he has them in stock.
 
...and that can only be faheem ...really he has most of the VFM IEMs out there. after one gets 4-5 $50 phones they stop ...but faheem does not.

I doubt that i'll buy m2 now.

though i can send someone (who has m2), my M1( after they are done with burn-in....and have used them enough). BUT that will take time as they will reach me in 4-5 days.
 
^ thats the spirit :P ...i started with s4, was completely satisfied. .. then spent some more ( a few days later ), then some more!
