Hi all,
I have been gaming on a 19inch monitor @ 1440 *900 with my 8800GT for the last 2 years, have played some 60-65 games mostly FPS and expect a few namely GTA4 and the deadly Crysis i have been able to play all the games at good framerates(60 and above) having all the settings maxed out. Recent was Splinter Cell conviction where at medium settings i was able to play @ 40-45fps, high @ 20-25 and max settings @ 10-15, ofcourse played @ medium settings as the other 2 were not playable.
Am a big fan of the GTA series and GTA4 is the best game that i have ever played but couldnt play with the max settings with my old 8800GT and the recent Episodes from Liberity City was able to run @ 30-35fps at low settings..
So can you please tell which is the best card that will play games at playable framerates for games that are to be released this year(Crysis2,F3EAR,Mafia2...) and the next year.
Am a big fan of nVidia but their recent 400 series make me think to look into the red side of the market - ATI but i guess most of the games have the nvidia logo(the way its meant to be played:hap5 and even their Physx feature which is gaining ground (mafia 2 has the physx feature)am confused whether to wait for a better 400 series or jump on to the ATI wagonwheel.
So here it is, i want a GPU that will rock games @ good fps and should be able to handle games that will be released till 2011 end(i know its not a good idea to predict how the future looks).
My system specs are
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Mobo - Gigabyte EX-38-DS4 (Intel X38 chipset)
RAM - 2 GB DDR 2 800 Mhz Corsair XMS2 (planning to upgrade to 4 GB)
HDD - 1 TB and 2 500 GB
GPU - XFX 8800 GT 512 MB (needs a revamp)
PSU - Corsair 620W HX
Chasis - CM 690
Budget range 15-25K, currrently interested in Sapphire Vapor X 5850 that is listed @ 17k in itwares and mediahome.in and also MSI Twin Frozr 5850, listed @ 16,750 @ smcinternational
So please tell me whether can i get the 5850 or wait for nVidia to hit back or go for nvidia's 470
