What is the best processor under 10k ? Should I buy a Intel Core i5-12400F or the Ryzen 5600 ? Or should I save a bit more and buy the 5600x instead ? I have very low budget, so I am looking for the best price-performance processors. Will you all please help me with this.
as a i5 12400F user, there's a few things to keep in mind
- All of these processors will require you to buy a dedicated graphics card or it won't start.
- 5600X IS BETTER than 5600. not sure why its cheaper on Amazon.
- For Gaming, Ryzen 5 5600X beats 12400F in select games with around a 10% margin. Sometimes games optimized for intel win.
Outliers are CS2 and Valorant where 5600X can get upwards of 500FPS. But it costs around 15% more, so not worth the price.
- For Production Work, Like anything Adobe, DaVinci, Blender, and even AI experimentation, i5 12400F is noticebly faster than Both Ryzen 5600 and 5600X. Intel is better optimized for work (Hence i went for Intel as well)
Coming to price to Performance, i suggest you go with a build like this
- i5 12400F
- 2x16GB 3200 MHz Ram,
- Cooler Master MWE 550 Bronze V2 Power Supply (refer to PSU tierlist
https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/)
Always get a good power supply. Maybe watch a few youtube videos regrading this. Its the most important component that new pc builders overlook. The wattage is not important, the actual component and safety of your components is the main reason.
For Motherboards
If you don't want to upgrade processor in the future, get a H610M Motherboard. Gigabyte or Asus is fine. Avoid MSI due to warranty Issues.
If you're thinking of upgrading a few years down the line, you'll have to spend around twice the amount of money on a B660 or B760 motherboard but it'll work well till a 14th gen i7 or i9 in the future.
I highly recommend getting a H610M personally as even i did the same and i'll just use the system til it dies.
For a similar setup for the Ryzens, you'll save around Rs. 1000 on the motherboard by getting a B450 Motherboard (you'll get PCIe x16 Gen 3.0 on GPU slot) but spend around Rs. 2000 extra on the processor, so intel is a safer choice in that regard as it'll support more things and be a bit cheaper anyway.
Both CPUs support most reasonably priced GPUs, just avoid getting a GTX 1650 or RTX 3050 or lower, anything above that should be a decent pair for either CPU you go for.
Final Thoughts - If your Budget is Very Low, i'm guessing like 25k, you might want to consider an i3 12100F build. You won't notice the performance difference if you get 32 GB Ram and that can pair well with an RX 6600 or RTX 3050 considering a low budget.
TL;DR - Yes get i5 12400F. Don't Overthink it. Its your first PC and it runs speedily, Don't overspend on Motherboard, but do get a good power supply. Later in a future build you can go for an AM5 latest gen Ryzen.
