Got myself a pair of Sony 2500mAh from ebay for Rs.200 (using the Rs.150 coupon :) ). Gotta say, they are amazing. Charged in less than 6 hours! Been using them in my Bluetooth mouse for almost a month now.

+10 for Sanyo.

Digicams require atleast 2500 mAh batteries to get you good number of shots.

Sanyo Eneloops only go upto 2000 mAh (?)

Eneloops will work, you will get fewer shots (20% fewer) in comparison to higher rated battereis but they will be easier to maintain.

I'm having a Canon Point & Shoot Camera(Powershot A460). Currently I''m using a pair of Uniross 2100 mAh.

When I'm using them(with flash), there is a time lag to get the battery powered up between two simultaneous shots. So in that case should I go for batteries with higher capacities like 2500 mAh or greater or will Eneloops will suffice ?

No, you would have to depress the button slightly so that the flash gets charged up, you would have to anticipate using the camera a few seconds prior to clicking.

It would depend on the power of the flash and the camera itself to allow you to take faster shots.

I had read somewhere that Sony Cycle Energy Blue are rebranded Sanyo Eneloops.
4x AA Sony Cycle energy Green 2500mAh batteries with a simple Sony 4-cell charger costed Rs.850/- at Alfa, Irla some months back.
The charger is rated to take 7 hrs to recharge 2000mAh Sony Cycle Energy Blue and 2500mAh Cycle Energy Green and 8 hrs to charge 2700mAh Cycle Energy Green batteries.
So maybe one can safely use the same charger to charge Sanyo Eneloop 2000mAh too.

Imho, if one uses their cam often or batteries immediately after charging, the 2500mAh are the ones they should go for maybe.
If using the cam sparingly and the batteries lie around for sometime, the Eneloops may serve such users better.

IIRC, a 2500mAh battery will only give you more shots per pair of batteries than the 2100mAh ones.
It mostly won't eliminate or reduce the issue you face with the flash.
All cams running on Ni-Mh have that issue.
The digicams using Li-ion batteries have faster flash recycle times iirc.

I have tried Sanyo, Sony, Duracell, IpowerUS & now Lacrosse. Out of this bunch Duracell & IpowerUS performed better compared to the others.

My worst experience was with Sanyo, the battery is completly dead the very next day after charging, however Duracell & IpowerUS retained almost 70% power even after a month when not in use.

Infact i got the Sanyo 2700 mah from a repute store and it seems Sanyo batteries are OEM's for Sony.
