BIOS setting goes to default

Hello, one of my system, amd phenom ii with asus m4a89Gtd pro usb3, am facing issue of bios going to default setting after power loss
I have changed CMOS battery and it was fine for few days. Now the same issue i face after i have switch off psu or have power cut ( no I don't have ups for now)

With older systems, you might need to check if any jumpers got dislodged.
I would check the manual if you have one handy, and I would also check the battery again with a multimeter.
 
Any chance the battery terminals are shorted out causing the battery to discharge very fast? Can you check the voltage of the newly installed battery with a multimeter and also measure the resistance of the battery terminals?

Its probably a EPROM BIOS chip issue. Some motherboard have dual BIOS chip also. Probably the chip is unable to store the modified instructions.

I don't think OP mentioned anything about the system not turning on, just that the bios settings are getting reset every time the system is powered down from the mains.
