Hi,

I have just received my Biostar A690G-M2 Motherboard and AMD X2 4000+ processor.

I am about to replace it with my existing hardware. However before I do that I want to download all the drivers etc associated with the Motherboards chipset (Display, Audio, LAN etc) as I do not want to install the older versions from the CD.

1. Should I install the chipset software from AMD's site or use some sort of Biostar software.

2. Do I need to upgrade the BIOS. The mfg month on the packet is Aug 2007 and it says Biostar A690G-M2 Ver. 6.0

Any other suggestions for a new install?

I normally install everything from the CD first and then download the latest and update.

I ran into a problem with my Jetway's display drivers, and downloading the latest driver from the ATI site fixed that.

The first time in building over twenty machines that this happened to me, BTW.
