Storage Solutions Blank DVD media quality guide

I picked up Regular 16x DVD-R MB (NOT PRO) from Anupam, this store by the bus depot @ Andheri (W) I always see, decided to go in and check it out. I picked up 6 DVD's - Open from the spindle.

I got scans of 97 and 96 burning off my HDD - got a 95 on the third using DVD Copy.

Much better than the shitty stack of MBP 16x DVD-R I picked up from Neotech, got 22 coasters in that stack.

Wondering if I oughta' pick up MB or MPB from Ankush (He stores them better than Neotech), or should I try out SONY DVD-R/+R ? I saw them @ Lammy yesterday, but didn't have the heart to buy it, street vendors = fake too.

Any suggestions?

P.s. Will post up scans of those disks off the server in a bit.

i got a writex bundle today (10 DVD's) for 150 bux and when i scanned using DVD identifier it showed that its a TDK TTH02 which according to DigitalFAq is in the 1st class Media hyeah:

i came to know tht the 25 disc spindle of SAMSUNG PLEOMAX 8x DVD+R ..tht i bought from DUBAI ..are of second class.not tht bad for dvd tht i got for 13 per disc.....but the sad thing is only one dvd is left in that cake box.

How come nobody ever mention Amkette and imation ?. I use Kodak media for storing very important/master stuff.

yea I purchased Imation (USA NO.1)10dvds for 190 bucks . DVD identified as ultra-cheap CMC ones ..

TTG02, TTH01, TTH02 MAM-America, MAM-Europe 2005 These are apparently "legal" fakes made by Mitsui, with permission by TDK to use the code. However the media is quite poor, not true TDK media.

dude its from teh digital faq page only only if you scroll down to the fake media section you will see the same.

Any source for Taiyo Yuden in India. I purchased in US and now left with only two.

Also, last week I purchased Mitsubish spindle and all fake. Any reliable source for quality DVD-R media in Bangalore

I don't have to worry anymore about high-grade blank dvds at all . I have 7 Sony DVD+R identified as Sony D21 (1st grade media ) and dealer has alot more in stock ... so I'm cool
