Panasonic has begun their “pilot production†of 50Gb Blu-ray discs out in their Torrance, California factory. This dual layer disc is the first of many capacities that Blu-ray may see (because manufactures can add additional data layer). We know that Sony is working on octuple layer discs with a 200GB capacity.
Fox filmed Entertainment is one of the latest companies to officially express its support for the Blu-ray.
