Selling this on behalf of a friend.
He got the laptop during thanks giving but this only arrived now from USA.

  • Product Name: Lenovo IdeaPad Y400 (Minus the SSD)
    Expected Price: Rs 52000/- (currently 1470USD including around 9% tax i.e. 80000 INR - USA price. Expect higher prices in Indian market)

Nothing else comes with the laptop. The box is lying in USA but if really needed I can have it bought down from USA for a nominal additional price
  • Reason for Sale: Friend got a Apple mac book Pro. Laptop arrived pretty late after purchasing
  • Product condition: 10 on 10
  • Purchase Date: Dec 2012 (Never used - Brand new)
  • Remaining Warranty period: Only USA Warranty

Just saying, do not take it in a negative way. Y500 is way better and way cheaper than this model... With models starting at 799$ going upto 1149$(for Gt750m Sli, SSD, 12GB RAM.

And y500 with 2 years ADP available in india for as low as 63-64k.
 
Hmmm.....what could be the other possible reason for ur post ...if not to hurt:).....lol
Basic rule: if 2 laptops have exactly the same specs (both high end) then the laptop with a small screen usually costs more (AFAIK)

Checked lenovo site; there is no "12GB" "SSD" option even in 1299 model. Also do add taxes which is around 120$

Also, please note that the price quoted by me is around 840$+tax...which is amazingly low for a brand new laptop which is 1470 in lenovo website itself

There seems to be another link to buy it http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/...&category-id=6716C35E262487E9B548B6298FE58D3B using a coupon code its $749, same specs as the link you have given works out to 41K with absolute conversion. (without tax,etc)

No disrespect to your post. Maybe people should know all the facts.

Screen is 14". As I had mentioned...if the specs are exactly the same then for a high end pc - small size laptops cost more (more cost for design to cramp up the stuff in smaller space)...just what I was told
 
not always, y500 comes with a FHD display, that makes a difference. but its all besides the point, all one needs to do is to check online how much both retail for and the matter is settled. at least in malaysia y400 is significantly cheaper than y500, and they sell like hot cakes there, such a pity that lenovo india never fully launched these two models and y580 from previous gen here. all three are great value for the money.

Y500 is available in india, im using it. 62k offline price.
