hey guys.
im shifting to 1st block, koramangla in bangalore n wld need a broadband connection so had a few questions for ppl who live dere.

1) which is the best isp there?
2) which plan of which company should i go for if i want a 1mbps unlimited line?
3) ill probably be living in a PG for 3 months so what all do i need to get a connection?

thnx :)

1) Airtel

2) 1699 rental, unlimited plan with 1 Mbps speed

3) Photo ID proof, Current residential address proof [Change your a/c address & get an e-statememnt]

I am currently using Airtel 1Mbps unlimited for 1699/- per month (taxes extra). It's been a year and there were only three-four downtimes and every time they responded professionally. Stay away from Sify, indicom and reliance wimax and broadband connections. they suck.

Either get Airtel or BSNL. These two are the best in Bangalore.

^^ Agreed on Airtel. But BSNL is unpredictable depends on the area. Take the gas bill or any address proof from your PG owner and a consent letter from him if required.

in case of shifting after few months, do remember that Airtel charges a fixed amount for reloacation. should be around 500 bucks but not sure.

Note: AVOID ANY WIRELESS INTERNET.

I took a pg in koramangala 2nd block. But Airtel is not available in that area :(

n the next option which was bsnl does not offer 1mbps plans for home users.

What do I do??? I'm so lost without my broadband

PS: how is railwire??? Wld be glad if I could get some user experiences

I recommend for a BSNL EVDO card.... very portable and useful. Otherwise go for 500 Plan with Nights UL.

TataIndicom WiMax is good...I'm using it in Whitefield area for past 6 months...downtime was once for 1 hr...that's it...speed is consistent and there are no disconnections (except after 11hrs they will automatically kill your session and you have to login again)...I'm on 500kbps unlimited plan...get 55kBps avg. for torrents...it costs me Rs1430/- per month including taxes...a 384kbps plan is also there for Rs1100/- per month.
