BSNL Gone Crazy (Home 500 Plan) -Superspeed

is that for all or they were just testing for specific region?
i used 550 plan about a year ago and i was using a separate modem that i bought from outside but i didn't notice any speed change

That's not modem's issue. That's the speed at which modem is synced with DSLAM. 2 mbps is pretty okay if you have a plan lesser than it because it helps in maintaining higher SNR margin and thus stable line.

This kind of stuff used to happen on my friends' and my own airtel connection frequently six months ago.
Guess they got it fixed :(
I don't think they have fixed it. About a month back my download speed shot up to 250+ kbps for a few hours.

On last Saturday my speed went upto 238 kbps for a few minutes.

My modem is an adsl2+ which gives theoretical speeds of 24mbps. The exchange limits all bsnl users to 2045kbps down and 500/800 up. But some users are given 8mbps connection and i do not know why. It can usually be seen in suburban exchanges where i guess the technicians are not concerned to put limits.

hey all,

beware of downloading like crazy on limited plans.
just cause portal doesnt showup ur latest usage.
they show ur present usage a little late like in a day or 2.

and yes when you are online it shows you as offline.

you have been warned.
