After Reliance Communications cutting its 3G tariffs last month, BSNL has has also reduced its 3G data plans from this independence day and now offering 1GB 3G data for Rs 125.

BSNL has unified its 3G and 2G data packs and under the uniform data packs, 1GB 3G will cost Rs 139 for pre-paid users ( including tax ) and Rs 125 for post-paid users ( tax extra ). Other plans are listed below.

BSNL has also introduced new data STVs ranging from Rs 17 to Rs 98 which are listed below.

For Prepaid 2G Data customers, who have recharged 2G Data STVs till 14.08.2013, the customer profile is to be converted to default profile of 3G with no speed restriction from 15.08.2013.

While Rcom's plans were good after the revision, it doesn't have 3G available in many circles in India, BSNL with its wide availability and better network seems to be a better option for now and hopefully other operators will also revise their 3G tariffs to similar price levels.

What does it mean to me who recharged my cell with 302 rs 2G pack giving 6GB data with 3 months validity?

Will they work in roaming at 3G speed?
I tried with Reliance 3G at 123rs for 1GB plan.
Bought in Delhi, giving good speed around 3-4mbps but in roaming in UP, it was giving 2G speeds and data was used from 3G balance.

i think telecom operators are not allowed to offer ROAMING on 3G apart from states where they have their own licence for 3g. that may be the reason..

duhh, if they dont have 3g in a place where you roam, obviously you will get 2g only.

trust me i am in the same dilemma......

Reliance is more common in UP than in Delhi/NCR.
It was not the reason, Lucknow and Allahabad must have Reliance 3G spectrum band where I was roaming........but I think it was under their policy not to give 3G for roamers.

I m in hope of not just getting a cut in 1GB plan but also plans with lower data limits. For me 300MB is almost enough for my needs. But when thinking of service provider point of view, they might not be willing to go below a price point as that might hit their revenues.

Does anyone know how to check the 3G balance ? I bought a BSNL 3G SIM Today and did the first recharge and all and i have got some 55 MB Data, 75 Rs BSNL-BSNL Balance and also 75 Rs BSNL-Others balance.
But i do not know where to check the 3G balance and also the other free balance which comes with the first recharge.
Anyone knows what is the short code or SMS to be sent for this ?

You can send DATA3G as an SMS to 53733.

Dial *112# and select 6 to receive details of all packs active. Should work in mh and mumbai .

Where r u using bsnl sim? And with which cell phone? Do share ur experience as I am having hell of a time with their pathetic service.

@Harpy.eagle

I did *112# and I get various options like
1 for main balance
2 for GPRS day etc.
When I press 2, I get that all active STV details will be sent by SMS but then I never receive that SMS.
I cannot even find how to check the 75 Rs Bsnl to Bsnl and 75 Rs Bsnl to others validity and balance.
