What am I selling?
A BSNL prepaid connection (with talk time of 500 rupees) for 400 rupees. This is a new connection and I have not given out the number to any of my contacts. I have not made even 1 outgoing call from it. This talk time is valid till 14-07-10.
What are the call charges?
Please refer the BSNL tariff page: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. The SIM was purchased under the 'General' option. The number is 94482xxxx.
Why am I selling it?
I took a new BSNL prepaid connection on 13 January 2010 with the intention of testing out their GPRS connection. From the BSNL website I noticed that they have the cheapest unlimited GPRS tariff.
Unfortunately, I was told by their marketing manager today that the unlimited GPRS tariff for prepaid is not yet launched in Karnataka. He suggested I go for a postpaid connection wherein I have an option of going for unlimited GPRS at 199/- p.m. To convert this prepaid connection to postpaid, I need to have zero talk time balance. But since I have not used this prepaid connection, I would rather sell it and get a new post paid connection. I don't want to make calls just to use up the 500 rupees talk time in it.
How is BSNL's coverage?
I have been a happy Vodafone user since 2004. But like all private operators, Vodafone suffers from its share of signal drops. With BSNL I have always noticed full bars in every nook and corner of the city. They supposedly have the best coverage in rural areas too.
So what exactly will the buyer get?
A BSNL CellOne SIM with Rs 500/- talk time valid till 14-07-10.
Note 1: I can't post pictures of the item I am selling. I can post pictures of the SIM which IMO is meaningless. For potential buyers I can show in person the available talk time value by dialling *123#.
Note 2: I am not sure if it is legal to transfer prepaid connection, especially in times like now. I understand that this number could be used for any unsocial activity ranging from blank calls to blackmail or even terrorism. Since the SIM is in my name, I could be held responsible if ever this number is misused. But I hope we don't have such unsocial elements on this forum
. Still, it is up to my discretion whom I choose to sell this SIM to. Please respect that.
This sale will be on only until Friday, Jan 18th.
