Those who are talking for the E7, can you give one reason that justifies purchasing the device at an unacceptable & exorbitant price ?

For me, the E7 will always be a crap.

@OP

I did not suggest you Optimus 2X because it has gained much negative reviews everywhere.

And before getting the iPhone4, promise yourself that you won't regret if iPhone5 is launched in June.

Did anyone say E7 is vfm?

As the o.p`s requirement is basic and any o.s(even symbian)can fulfill those,no point crying or screaming over symbian vs android vs whatever.

E7 is built like a tank,it has top notch video and audio capabilities(only galaxy s comes close in this department from the android army)and very efficient power management.

The relatively smaller 1200mA battery gives an impressive 2 days on moderate use.

I am no symbian fan, android is miles ahead, but symbian still gets all the basics done perfectly.

Another thing I would like to mention, anyone coming from blackberry camp will find the battery life of android phones(not sure about the dual core ones)well below par.

No one regrets after buying an Apple product(defies logic though)

I am not against Symbian. I am against this particular handset which has nothing to offer for the asking price.

Better than Motorola Defy, is it ?

I think you're talking about video playback capabilities since reviews have already trashed the E7's camera.

Any phone is 600mhz processor combined with a less-powerful OS would do that. My Java phone gives one week of batter life, so should I pay 50k for it ? Lesser powerful phone = higher battery life, that's it. Sorry, I cannot agree with you on this.

There are many cheaper Symbian phones which "gets the basic done" starting from Nokia 5233. Why should anyone spend 27-28k on this ?

Blame it on the battery technology which has not matured enough to keep up with the increasing demands of smartphones.

I agree. But there are plenty of people who start making a fuss whenever a newer generation Apple device comes out.

For texting E7 is perfect.

Is that hard to understand :P ??

Anna update will make it, and quicker than Android updates come

@ OP.. go to a store and check out the E7, its NOT VFM as discussed in this thread but it meets your requirement :thumbs up:

Iphone 4 is another nice option, But people would speculate launch of iPhone 5.. so make a decision.

I am in love with Swype on my LG O1 and prefer it over QWERTY, just check out some device with SWYPE, if you like it you might well save 10K odd for your requirement.

thanks but have never heard about this model . will go through the specs .

Can someone please tell me if ill be able to use swpye and download other applications through market section from FU iphone 4? Also will itune going to work fine? thanks
Trust me, swype is very over-rated, its fun, its cool, its got a lot of bling value, its not very practical. I've used it on my Legend and a friends SGS and also on My N8, and it gets so frustrating when your typing a 3 or less letter word, it keeps suggesting the wrong one. The best keyboard IMO would be SwiftKey.

Swype can be used on pretty much all android phone, albeit the Iphone's keypad is the one I love, you could type an entire paragraph within no time.
If texting/email/SNS's are your predominant applications, the Iphone would not dissatisfy.

Thanks so much guys each and every post was very useful for me as i have been using Nokia (symbian) and recently blackberry so for me choosing on a touchscreen phone with totally different OS was a big headache , but thanks to you guys for the those precious inputs . an hour back i've bought Iphone 4 factoryunlocked for 31k . so far so good :)

Really a good choice dude... Even i am thinking of getting an iPhone 4 but will wait for iPhone 5...

Great choice, the iPhone 4 is absolutely stunning, get a few of those colored backings and you can match em with your shirt :P
